Jay,
I just happened to google your mom since I hadn't been in touch in many years. I was heartbroken to hear of her death and I was shocked, because she meant so much to me and I adored her. I knew you as an infant, and you actually came to Indy one year to my home with your father. I wish you the most happiness and joy life can offer and I know you know that your mother was an elegant and light and wise woman. Much love to you and yours, Peppy Peterson

I heard you knocked the cover off the ball when u stood up and talked. I knew you could do it. I actually never had a doubt. You had a big house but we always sat in the same little corner watching that same little tv...can you believe that now mister super tv man. We used to microwave stuff pretty much always, unless Barb wanted to come home and make flank steak and talk to us, it happened more often then not. You might not remember because you were always hungry and probably ate a frozen pizza before dinner...that's no shocker, fool.
I'm so glad you're wife knows how to make that now...your kid's will always know that the tradition lives on & so does your mom.

Dear Jay,
I can't believe that the gorgeous, elegant, tall and skinny Barb is no longer with us. As her sorority sister and senior year roommate I never realized that I was short until I lived with your long-legged mother. I will always remember your mom, as I am sure you do, for her dry sense of humor, natural sense of style and unique sense of herself. She is sorely missed by all of us who loved her when we were all young and frivolous and now when we are old and still frivolous.
Much sympathy to you, but understand from you dad, that you were dearly loved and you shall carry that for the rest of your life.
Maybe we can meet someday in San Diego as we have family there.
Warmest wishes,

Jay, I have the fondest memories of your Mom from her time in college as we were pledge sisters, sorority sisters, room mates and friends during our 4 years at Purdue. She was a joyous, funny, bright, entertaining spirit and one I gladly called my friend. I am grateful for the memories. My sincerest sympathies to you. She is missed. Dear Jay and Megan,
I am so glad that I was able to see you both at Barbara's service yesterday. Jay, you gave such a moving tribute to your "cool" Mom. Seeing all your friends there reminded us all of how she welcomed your friends into her home and how comfortable they felt with her. She was always so proud of you and was so happy to see you and Megan married.

Dear Jay,
You did such a wonderful job today. Your Mother would be very proud. It was a privilege to work with her for 10 years. I am hoping you will drop into the shop when you are in town. I have been watching your life from a distance for all these years and would love to see where Barbara's legacy goes. I will miss her terribly.
My deepest sympathy, Patti
