Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 9, 2018.
Barbara Brubaker Luby, 91, entered into rest January 4, 2018. He was born on November 14, 1926, to LaRue and June Martin Brubaker in Lancaster, MO.

Following high school, Barbara earned her Bachelors of Science in Teaching. She taught for one year before moving to Cornell University to study Biology. During her course of study she met and married her late husband, George David Luby, Sr. They moved to Dallas in 1950. Together they had two sons.

Barbara returned to the workforce as an Administrative Assistant for the government Bureau of Mining.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren. She loved watching them enjoy themselves, in whatever pursuit they enjoyed.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; and brothers John Brubaker and Dale Brubaker.

She was survived by her sons George "David" Luby Jr. (Catheryn) and William Luby (Suzanne); grandchildren Chris Luby, Betsy Luby, Cathleen Francis (Jordan), and Rebecca Luby; great-grandchild Isaiah Francis; and siblings Bill Brubaker and Mary Hogle.

Following cremation, the family will hold a private remembrance.

David and Bill I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it was for me when my mother passed. Let me know if there is something I can do for either of you. I am listed in the phone book.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain you during this difficult time. (Isaiah 61:1,2). My prayers are with your family.
