Barbara MacRae Obituary

Published by North Shore News from Jan. 16 to Jan. 24, 2013.
Jun 9, 1918 - Jan 7, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 1994. She is survived by her two sons Alexander Roy (Lourdes) and Douglas, two granddaughters Anna (Jonathan), Sarah (Joshua) and grandson Daniel. "Gambie" will also be missed by her four "great" grandchildren Zoey, Liam, Rebecca and Tess, whom she took great joy from in her later years.

Barbara lived her entire life in West Vancouver and loved the beach that she lived close to. Gambie was an avid gardener and animal lover. She enjoyed reading and was always compassionate as she kept abreast of current events. Barbara was a good friend and neighbour to many. Susan Lindell and Gambie shared fond companionship over daily afternoon tea. She and her lifelong friend Marguerite Ralston and others shared many experiences through travel, "stitch and chatter" and bridge club. A sincere thanks goes to Mila Dimaculangan and Lourdes for their patience and care in Gambie's last months. A service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at St. Francis-in-the-Wood, 4773 South Piccadilly Road, West Vancouver, B.C. at 1:00 PM. Reception to follow. Directions - turn left at the Dale just past the firehall.

Roy, Doug & family I heard the news of Aunt Barbara. I wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of her and all the happy times I spent with all of you at the house and on the beach. I wish I could be there to attend the service.
Love your cousin,
Sandy
