Barbara Macy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 13, 2013.
Barbara Jean Macy, 82, life long Yakima Valley resident passed away June 11,
2013. Born in 1931 in Yakima, WA, daughter of Hamilton J. and Dorothy (Lambert)
Webert, Jean graduated from Highland High School in 1949 and married the love of
her life Donald C. Macy in 1950. Don always believed he was so lucky that Jean was
his wife. Jean and Don farmed together in the lower Yakima Valley for many years
and upon retirement moved to Terrace Heights.
Important to Jean were family events, prayer, bible study, church and grandchildren.
Jean was creative and loved to work with craft items including stained glass and
personalized cards. Jean would often say, "God is good and knows what He is doing!
That is reassuring and comforting! Oh Joy!" She served as a speaker and in
leadership positions with Christian Women's Club (Stonecroft Ministeries) for
nearly two decades.
Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years, children Janet K. Leach (David), Michael
D. Macy (Becky) and Patti J. Brown (Denny). Adored and loved by 9 grandchildren
and 13 great grandchildren, she is also survived by her sister Joanne Anderson of
Seattle and her sisters-in-law Beverly Webert of PA and Betty Mansperger (Gene) of
W A. She was preceded in death by parents Hamilton and Dorothy Webert, brothers
Don, Jim and Lawrence.
A celebration of Jean's life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 1:00PM at Westside
Church in Yakima. Arrangements are by Keith & Keith Funeral Home of Yakima. On
line tribute to Jean's life can be viewed at www.keithandkeith.com.

Dear Don,family & friends of Jean
We know all who knew her will miss her. She has left you a great legacy in her loving and serving our Lord. She had a great Love for all of you.. We can celebrate that she is in Gods arms with no more pain. She had unmeasureable strength and courage. We remember fondly the times we were able to share our friendship. Don I still remember you and Ron singing a duet at Highland Church for evening service. You sang Ivory Palaces one of my favorites. When we moved from the Yakima Valley to the coast our paths may not have had opportunity to cross but there many times you were in our thoughts. Several weeks before Jean passed away i had a wonderful chat to catch up on the past. I feel so blessed to have had that chance..We pray for you all at this time of missing Jean. Love and rememberance Ron & Joan Matzke
