Barbara Marlow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2025.
Barbara Elizabeth "Barb" Marlow (née Wickline) passed away on February 14, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Born on January 4, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana, Barb lived a life marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering belief in the possibilities of life.

Barb served as a medic during the Vietnam War, dedicating herself to the care of others in a time of great need. Her compassion and strength carried through every aspect of her life, shaping the way she loved and supported those around her.

Barb found joy in staying active and had a deep appreciation for reading. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did, embracing each day with curiosity and determination. Those who knew Barb will remember her fierce love and boundless spirit.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Anna Garver (Matt), her son, Michael Legg, and her beloved grandchildren, Audric and Sebastian Garver. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by those who loved her.

The family will honor Barb's memory with a small ash-spreading ceremony at Blackwater Falls, West Virginia-one of her favorite places. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family is directing support to mercycare.org/giving. The Mercy Medical Center took amazing care of Barbara and her family during an incredibly difficult time.
