Barbara Moody Obituary

Barbara Jean Moody, age 79, entered the gates of heaven, on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, a daughter to the late Everett E. and Vara Branton. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herbert Moody, Jr.; grandchildren, Aaron, Heather and Jeremy Moody. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dwight David Moody and his wife Sandra, Timothy Moody and his wife Paula all of Blountville; three grandchildren, Dustin Moody, Kristi Moody Walling and her husband, Hunter, Whitney Moody; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Haywood and Parker Walling; one brother, Eddie Branton and his wife, Sheila of Jonesborough; one sister, Shirley McKarem and her husband, Sam of Greensboro, North Carolina. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Roy Graves officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Barbara was the sweetest person you could ever have the joy of meeting.I was her landscaper for the past few years and enjoyed every visit to her home and was always greeted with a beautiful smile.She would call me at home just to ask how my family and I were doing even when she didn't need any work done.The family is in our thoughts and prayers.There will always be a special place in my heart for Barbara Moody.
