Barbara Jean (Hanenberger) Nalls, 65, of Rockledge, Fla., passed away on May 9, 2018, at Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center.
Barb was born Oct. 14, 1952, to Alvin and Lois Hanenberger at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, the oldest of two children. She graduated from Fauquier High School and Northern Virginia Community College. She worked for the C.I.A. in McLean, Va. After retirement, she volunteered at Harmony Farms for Therapeutic Riding, Brevard County Zoo, Melbourn, Fla., and Wuesthoff Hospital, Rockledge, Fla.
She married Leonard Nalls June 28, 1979. They enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center.
Barb is survived by her loving husband of 39 years; her mother, Lois; sister, Brenda (Ricky McCleary) Sitter of Rochester; nieces, Mellissa (Mike) Schinigoi of West Concord and Barbara (Brian) Shingleton of Capon Bridge, W.V.; great-nieces, Madison, Layla and Dixie; and great-nephews, Matthew and Martin.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, in-laws, and grandparents.
Barb's sweet smile, kind heart and love of life, family and friends will always be our memory of Barb.
Her life will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, at Peace United Church of Christ, 1503 Second Ave., NE, Rochester, with the Rev. Paul Bauch officiating. Burial will be held 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Eyota. Lunch to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
