Barbara Cash Parker

Barbara Ann Cash Parker, age 82, of Nashville, previously of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at her residence. She was born on September 27, 1942, in Cleveland County, to the late Muriel Melton and Mable Sarah Proctor Cash. Barbara was a member of Second Baptist Church in Cherryville. She taught children's Sunday School and worked in Vacation Bible School in her younger years. She wanted to be sure that children knew Jesus. She also loved being in the choir. She loved being outdoors and watching nature. For many years, she was an after-school care worker and enjoyed taking care of children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Grover Parker, Sr.; son, Daniel Grover "Danny" Parker, Jr., and siblings, Bill Cash, Bob Cash, and Nancy Clark.

Survivors include her daughter, Danna Parker Banning (Allen), of Nashville; brother, Melton Cash (Sharon), of Cherryville; sister-in-law, Sheila Cash, of Statesville; grandchildren; Meredith Banning Mitchell (Andrew), of Rocky Mount, Gracen Banning, of Garner, Courtney Banning, of Raleigh, and Lauren Ebert (Brian), of Matthews; great-granddaughters, Lylah, and Cora Mitchell, and Sophia Ebert; caregiver and dear family friend, Terri Strickland; and caregivers, Haley Collins, and Jennifer Ferrell.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2025, at Second Baptist Church, in Cherryville, with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the church.
