LAKEVILLE -- Barbara Raynor, a loving mother, devoted grandmother and dear friend, died Friday, February 9, 2007.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Louise (Frezza) Fernandes, and sister to James and Robert Fernandes.
Barbara lived in Lakeville and the surrounding area with her husband Bill for most of her life and was best well-known in the community as a leader in the real estate industry.
Barbara's career started in the early 1980's as a broker for Birchwood Realty where she eventually became owner of the company until the mid-1990's. Barbara then worked for Century 21 and was recently recognized by Weichert-Realtors, Neves and Cashman Realty as one of its top producing agents.
Barbara's career defined her perfectly; hardworking, dedicated and successful. But as many knew so well, her greatest joy in life was her family, most notably her son Bill Jr., daughter-in-law, Kara and granddaughters, Ashley and Courtney. She was also especially devoted to her friends. Her presence will be severely missed by all she touched.
Remembrances may be made to: Oppenheimer Legacy Program F 130, The Barbara Raynor Legacy Fund, PO Box 173673, Denver, CO 80217-3673.
Funeral services and burial were private and under the direction of CABRAL-LAMOUREUX FUNERAL HOME, 177 Cove Street, New Bedford, Ma.

Billy...
My deepest sypathies are with you and your family. I have often thought
of you, and wondered how you are. I am sorry that this horrible tragedy
is what brings me to contact you. I remember your parents as being
great loving parents that raised you with the love and guidance not
many are blessed to have had. When all the dust settles, and the
healing begins, I sincerely hope that you will be left with wonderful
memories of 2 great parents that loved you dearly. Please know that
you, your wife, and your two little girls are in my prayers.

Dear Bill,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your parents. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I have often thought of you and your parents since graduation, wondering how you are and what you decided to do. Mom still goes by the old house in Rochester and tells me she remembers waiting outside of Nursery School with your Mom talking about gardening (Something they both had in common!) while waiting for us to get out of school. She tells me that story like it was yesterday. However we know that was a mere 30 years ago! I hope that your faith and the love of your wife and girls will help you through this trying time. Again my deepest sympathy.
