Barbara H. Retherford

Barbara Helen Retherford, 76, of Tuscumbia, Ala., died April 20, 2009.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Colbert Memorial Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, in the chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Officiating will be Jeremy Retherford and minister Herschel Quinn.

Mrs. Retherford was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Annie Latham, and great-grandson, William Spencer Myrick II.

She was a member of Cotton Town Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Reverend Crawford Retherford; children, Sherron and Gary Powell, of Muscle Shoals, Farrell and Sherry Retherford, of Tuscumbia, Joel and Angela Retherford, of Florence, Bonnie and Raymond Fisher, of Huntsville, Denise Retherford, of Tuscumbia, and Tony and Angie Retherford, of Muscle Shoals; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Lawson, Janay Powell, Jeremy, Luke and Farrah Retherford, Jay Retherford, Allison Brewer, Stephanie Myrick, Misty Holland, Rafferdy Fisher, Kayla Miller and Kyle Retherford.; nine great-grandchildren; brother, H.J. Latham, of Trinity, Ala.; four sisters, Nat White, of Landersville, Ala., Ruby Prickett, of Hoover, Ala., Betty White, of Olive Branch, Miss., Faye Miles, of Buford, Ga.; many nieces and nephews.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Colbert Memorial Chapel of the Shoals is directing.
