Barbara Klep Schubert, age 80, of Fairview Manor, formerly of Girard, received her wings and went to walk with the angels on Monday, August 21, 2023.
She was born in Erie, PA on June 7, 1943, she was the youngest of five born to the late Joseph and Irene Barto Klep.
Barbara was a 1961 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She had worked as a waitress and cook in the Erie area until her stroke at the age of 38.
She enjoyed the San Francisco 49ers, country music, bingo, discussing her Polish and Hungarian heritage, making Easter cheese, collecting a hell of a lot of salt and pepper shakers and the occasional puff of a cigarette.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years in 2003, Don H. Schubert; three sisters, Patricia Pisano; Mary Ludwig; Shirley Abata; a brother, Joseph Klep Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Renee Lago.
She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Dalrymple (Kenneth) of Albion, PA and Melinda "Lynn" Bell (Andrew Seib) of Erie, PA. Five grandchildren, Joshua Bell (Tiffany), Robert Lago Jr. (Chelsi), Kenneth Dalrymple Jr., Nicholas Seib, and Danielle Seib. As well as 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by many family members and friends.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10 am until the time of service at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
