Barbara Shandera Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2022.
Barbara was the only child of Homer and Pauline Stearns. She graduated from San Jose State University where she met her first husband, Hubert Templeman. She taught school until she gave birth to their first child. After years as a homemaker, she returned to the workforce finding her true calling in recruiting. Barbara created and ran the Career Search Employment Agency successfully. She was proud of being a female business owner and felt strongly about encouraging women in the workforce. She valued education, and was a proud member of American Association of University Women, remaining active in this and many other clubs. Barbara lived a life rich in love and laughter. She is survived by her children, Tom and Sue Templeman, and Kathy and David Chain; her grandchildren Scott Templeman and Shalini Wickramatilake, Erica Templeman and Bruce Vencil, Laura Chain, and Benjamin Chain, and her great grandson, Justin Templeman.

I know how much your mother valued education. I remember the first time she held Alex when we were still in the hospital. She rocked him and said " you´re going to go to college, you´re going to go to college" I will miss her. Kris
