KERNERSVILLE - Bobbi Shaw passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She fought a gallant fight with Lou Gerig's Disease.
A celebration of life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 9,at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Kernersville, where she was an active member. The service will be officiated by Rev. Neill Shaw of Bunker Hill and Rev. Bob Hiatt of High Point.
She was born April 15, 1935, to Pauline Greeson Shaw and George Grier Shaw.
Bobbi was a 1958 graduate of Appalachian State Teacher's College teaching for over 23 years in the Reidsville, High Point City, Forsyth and Guilford County County school systems.
Bobbi donated her body to Wake Forest School of Medicine for research of Lou Gerigs disease.
She was pre-deceased by her parents; one brother, J. B. Shaw; and one sister, Ruby S. Neese.
Survivors include her beloved Aunt Ellen Shaw Clodfelter of Kernersville; sisters, Ruth Moore (Willie) of Whitsett, Carlene S. Neese of Burlington and Toby S. Watts (John) of Columbia, S.C.; and brothers, Bill (Betty) Shaw, Glenn (Alma Lou) Shaw of Gastonia and John (Helen) Shaw of Burlington. She also leaves 23 loving nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service in the Bunker Hill fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Forsyth County Hospice.
