Barbara Ellen Smith

Barbara Ellen Smith (Lotz), 95, of Bristol, CT, passed away on July 10, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1927, in Yonkers, NY to Leonard & Beatrice Lotz.

Barbara was known for her sense of humor, patience and hard working spirit. She was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for over 70 years with the Middletown, Plymouth & Bristol West Congregations. She found great joy in spending time with her family, traveling, and generously giving to others. Barbara also enjoyed camping, crocheting, playing cards with friends, and volunteering much of her time in the ministry.

Barbara is survived by her beloved sisters Nicki Apicella and Arline Cecchini, daughter Shelley Brunet, her son Alfred Richard Smith II, daughter-in-law Geraldine Smith, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Alfred R. Smith, her brothers Leonard, Marvin and Charles and her sisters Charlotte, Vera, Caroline and June.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday July 22, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 197 Jerome Ave. Bristol, CT.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at The Pines and Constellation Hospice for their exceptional love and care over the past few years.

Barbara's warm presence, love for Jehovah, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
