Barbara was born on June 3, 1961, in Chicago, she was a vibrant and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her.

Barbara's early education took place at Raymond Grammar School, followed by Phillips High School, laying a strong foundation for her spirited and engaging personality. Barbara was renowned for her love of life, often described as the life of the party. Her infectious laughter and quick tears were emblematic of her deep emotional connections and sincerity. A lover of dancing and jumping rope, Barbara brought joy and energy to every gathering. Her signature red lipstick and her assertive motto, "If I said what I said was a person," perfectly captured her bold and loving essence.

Her greatest passions were her family, especially her daughter Jasmine Trussel and her four grandchildren, Damera, Damia, Destiny, and Damiyah. Barbara is survived by a large and loving family, including her mother, Mildred Davis; her son, Dashawn; her lifelong partner, Orvell; siblings Frank Trussell and Annet Loggin; the father of her daughter, Chris; and nieces; Frances, Trina, Trvina, Sharlotte, Sheree, Shawnta. Nephews; Jermell, Leonardo, Jerode, Jerimah, Jacoby. And cousins; Debra, April, Valerie. and a host of great nieces and nephews and cousins

Barbara Jean Trussel, aged 63, passed away on August 13, 2024 She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Trussel, Aunties; Marie Killibrew, Catherin Davis. Uncle; Jerry. Sister-in-law; Florence. Nephew; Cleveand. Cousins; Sharen, Marvin, Darryel, Larry,Erwin.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Barbara's life at Higgins Family Funeral Home in Chicago, Illinois. The visitation details will be available at the funeral home.

Barbara Jean Trussel's legacy of laughter, love, and vivid presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
