Barbara J. Valentine, 75, of Clarksburg, died at 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at her home. She was born on June 20, 1943 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Robert Edward, Sr. and Mary Angus Conley Bryant. On November 21, 1964 she married Donald Valentine, who survives.

In addition to her husband Don, Barb is survived by two children, Donda Renee (Steve) Hill of Frankfort, D.J. Valentine of Columbus, five grandchildren, Kennedy (Dalton) Moss, Kolton (Sarah) Hill, Konnor Hill, Devin Valentine, Braydon Valentine, three great-grandchildren, Quinton, Delilah, Remington, two sisters, Mary Ann (Wendell) Pettiford of Chillicothe, Betty (Bill) Pettiford of Frankfort, one brother, Robert E. Bryant Jr., of Frankfort, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandy Bryant and Linda Bryant.

Barb was a 1961 graduate of Paint Valley High School. She worked in the Dietetics Department at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Chillicothe for 17 years, and retired in 2007. Barb was a member of Second Baptist Church, Roxabel. She was part of the Missionary Society, mass choir, and was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school secretary, church clerk and church treasurer.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the Second Baptist Church, Roxabel, where her sister Mary Ann Pettiford, and brother, Robert Bryant Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
