Interment followed in Dayton National Cemetery. Mrs. Winkelmann died Nov. 6, 2009 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Born Aug. 31, 1948, in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Craig and Shirley Eason. On March 21, 1970, Barbara married Robert William Winkelmann in Fraser, Mich. She was a former member of Lake Avenue Christian Church and participated in local quilting and herbal groups. She enjoyed gardening and helping others. Her compassion for people was life long. As a young woman, she worked as a nurse and later volunteered as an EMT and for local food outreach agencies. As a military wife, she lived in many places and was active in Bible study groups wherever she lived. As her legacy, she wished to share her love for Jesus Christ and her trust in His amazing grace with all her loved ones. Survivors include a daughter and son in-law, Amy and Neal Scoggins; granddaughters, Riley and Shelby Scoggins all of Thomasville, Ga.; sister and brother in-law, Donna and Richard Maatman of Lake City, Mich.; brother and sister in-law, Doug and Judy Eason of Washington, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Winkelmann; and son, Colin Edward Winkelmann. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International in her memory. Myself and my family send our love and prayers. Amy, you know that mom Winkelmanny was a second mom to me and I will miss her dearly. Many great memories with her that I will cherish. Love you, Neil and the girls.

Sincerely,
