Barrie Drake Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 6, 2024.
Barrie Elizabeth Drake, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 6, 2024, at Nathan Adelson Hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other ailments.

Barrie was born on February 17, 1954, in Riverside, California. She moved to Las Vegas in 1967, where she graduated from Valley High School and afterward attended Dixie College in St. George, UT. It was there that she earned her Associates of Arts degree. As time passed she returned to Las Vegas where she created a warm and loving home for her family. Barrie is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Lawrence Drake, and her cherished children Russell, Crystal, Kara, and Amber, as well as her treasured grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Robin and Gretchen, and her brother, Richard.

Barrie was a beautiful soul who cared deeply for everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She dedicated her early years to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) before choosing to become a stay-at-home mom, a role in which she excelled as she raised her four children with boundless love and devotion.

Her passions included listening to country music, attending concerts-especially those of Toby Keith-and baking delicious treats for friends and family. Barrie was an active and dedicated member of the LDS Church, where she lovingly served in the Library and the Relief Society.

A memorial service to celebrate Barrie's life will be held on June 7, 2024, at the LDS Church located at 100 E Hammer Ln in North Las Vegas, NV. Friends and family are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the National MS Society in honor of her daughters.

Barrie's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
