It has been so long since Ben and Miss Brenda helped me. I today decided to google Ben's name because I never stopped thinking about Miss Brenda and Ben. They made such a huge impact on my life. I sit here at my desk at work crying at their loss. He was truly a remarkable man and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My love and prayers to you Miss Brenda, Melissa Magers California .

Today is Nov 17th and I decided to Google Ben's name and see if I.could locate Ben and Brenda. I never thought I'd see this. But it has been 16 years. I let all those minutes, hours, days, months and now years go by and I never got to see my friend Ben again and let him know what a difference he made in my life and and my son Shaun. Brenda, you and Ben reached out to me at the most difficult time of my life. I will never forget Ben's sense of humor and caring attitude. There will never be another Ben. I enjoyed working with Ben and meeting you Brenda. You counseled me and encouraged me to be a nurse. I became that nurse. If I hadn't met you and Ben my life would have ended up very different. I love you both. Thank you.

Brenda: Just weeks before his death, I told my brother that when we were growing up I was certain that by the age of 20 he would either be dead or in prison! .... Then I had the priviledge of telling him how proud I was at all that you and he had accomplished together.

It is so evident that the "Camp Team" has touched hundreds of lives in a positive way, and I will NEVER forget some of the heart-touching stories related to me at the wake...What a tribute to Ben's legacy!

He always said you were his angel. Now he is yours ... and I hope he smothers your days ahead with millions of happy memories.

Cheri and I will always be here for you. Love ... Mike

Brenda my heart hurts along with you and your family. The two of you were family. I remember getting the two of you ready for your wedding. Remember Ben and the tennis he wore for the wedding. That's what I loved about Ben, he was one of a kind. I will miss him.

Ben was one of those rare individuals that made everyone smile the second they saw him. I still remember the first time I met him. Instantly it was like I'd known him forever. Ben, we'll miss your smiling face and clever conversation. Brenda, you are in our thoughts and prayers, and if you ever need anything, we are a phone call away.

My condolences to Ben's family and friends. I knew Benji many years ago and he always had a smile that could light up a room. You knew that he was a kind man. And what talent! He brought many a smile, to many people. RIP ole friend...

We we greatly miss that smiling face walking into our shop. He was always a delight to serve. He was a customer but a friend. He always had a kind heart and treated us with great respect. Our prayers are with his Family.

Dear Brenda,
Words cannot describe how much you and Ben mean to me. My daughter could not have chosen better inlaws. You are not considered inlaws but family. We will miss Ben very much. He was truly a diamond in the rough. He appearred to be stern but was a real sweatheart inside. He showed his love for you everyday and was a great Papa to Riley. He has left many great memories for us to cherish. He is with God now and will be watching over you. God Bless You Brenda. We love you.

Mr. Ben is easily one of the most amazing individuals I've ever encountered. He taught me how to live; everything from how to cut up a whole chicken and changing door knobs, to using a chainsaw and driving a car. He showed me how to love another person unconditionally. Every overwhelming problem that i didn't know how to handle, he simplified and helped me solve. God worked through Mr. Ben on a moment to moment basis and showed me what a friend is. Mr. Ben will always be in my heart. I love him so much. Ms. Brenda, Riley, and family, You are also in my thoughts and prayers. I love you.

Today I have a wonderful life beyond my wildest imagination. This man had a very large part to do with that. Thank you Ben for helping me find my way in this world, I am eternally grateful. I have not seen or spoken to Ben or Brenda in more than 10 years, but have thought of them often. Memories of riding around in that horrible yellow truck will never fade. My heart goes out to Brenda and Family. Thank you.
