Barry David Menaker

Barry David Menaker, 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022, surrounded by family and friends in north Georgia. Loving son of Michael and the late Marjorie Menaker of Oakville, Connecticut; devoted brother to Jonathan Menaker and his wife Kelly of Cleveland Heights, OH; beloved uncle to Gary and Matthew Menaker; and a dear friend to so many.

Barry was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, but called Connecticut, Florida and Georgia home over the years. He found his dream home in Blue Ridge, GA complete with scenic mountains, fishpond, and his beloved arcade games. He loved traveling throughout the US, Europe, the Caribbean, with a special tour of Southeast Asia for his 50th birthday. He loved live music and singing, including hundreds of karaoke recordings from Barry Manilow to AC/DC. He had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anybody. Barry loved his dogs, Boston and Sophia, and spoiled them accordingly. Barry deeply cared about and was a great source of joy to his family and friends; and was also a strong source of support whenever needed. He was passionate about mental health and making the world a better place for everybody.

Friends and family are invited to a remembrance of Barry at Farband Cemetery in Morris, Connecticut on Sunday, December 11, 2022. A celebration of life will also be held in Atlanta, Georgia at a later date.
