Barry Plank Corrigan Obituary
Barry married Connie Mandelko on August 6, 1983. To this union, Barry was blessed with two children. Connie and Barry later divorced. He then married Tara Roepsch on August 17, 2002 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Barry loved flying, NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt Sr.), fixing cars, boating, golf and reading. Every new day was an adventure for him. He had a passionate love for life, a contagious smile, optimistic nature and will be missed by his family, friends, and co-workers; all of whom all loved him so very much.
Barry is survived by his wife Tara Corrigan, of Urbandale; daughter, Brenna Plank (LukeLawlor) of Madrid; son, Cory Plank of Ankeny; step-daughter, Kori (Conner Feldotto) Corrigan,; former wife Connie Jensen, of Ankeny, mother, Carolyn (Ronald) Corrigan of Mountain Home, Arkansas; father, LeRoy (Vicki) Plank of West Des Moines; sister Kelly (John Elkins) Corrigan Becker, of West Plaines, Missouri; three step-sisters, Danielle (David) Plank Harris of Okinawa, Japan, Kathleen Miller of West Branch, Iowa and Tracy Corrigan of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a step-brother, Michael (Lisa) Corrigan of Sharon, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West First Street, Ankeny, Iowa on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM. As a show of sympathy, memorials should be directed to the family to be used to purchase a memorial bench overlooking Saylorville Reservoir, a place that Barry loved. Our thoughts and prayers are out to all who knew and loved Barry. I will never forget the joy and excitement on your daughter Brennas face as she shared with us her recent dinners, letters and talks with you. She was able to share that joy with your son Cory as well. You fathered two amazing children and we are lucky to know them. Your daughter Brenna has been a part of our son lucas's life for close to four years and we are all truly blessed because of it. I've heard so much about your smile.. That must be where she got it!! Rest in peace knowing they will be loved and supported by great friends and family!
