Barry Lynn Wilburn

Barry Lynn Wilburn, 73, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 24, 1951 in Roanoke, Barry lived life to the fullest - always quick with a joke, the first to turn up the music, and ready to jump on the dance floor the moment the music started.

Known for his big personality and even bigger heart, Barry was the life of the party and brought joy and energy wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Turner Wilburn and Mildred Slone Wilburn; his brother, Chris Wilburn; and his niece, Pamela Ginter.

Barry is survived by Sandra Wilburn Ginter (Reggie), Kenny Wilburn (Shelly), Becky Wilburn, and Lauralee Grim (Skip Johnson), in addition to his nieces and nephews: Scott and Kerri Wilburn, Robin Schaeffer (Eugene), and Molly Zimmerman (Dustin).

Barry was a proud and loving father to his son, Joshua Tiller, and his daughters, Maegan Deibler and Ashlee Wilburn (David Gaylord), who brought him endless joy and pride. He was forever grateful to his friend Debra Heath for her love, support, and help raising such wonderful girls together.

Nothing lit up his life more than time spent with his grandchildren - Turner and Wells Deibler, Charlotte and Henry Gaylord, and Kierra Tiller - who affectionately knew just how much they were adored by their "Paw Paw."

Barry will be remembered for his magnetic personality, his loyalty to those he loved, and the unforgettable memories he created with family and friends. His legacy lives on in the laughter, stories, and love he shared so generously.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at South Roanoke United Methodist Church with reception in the fellowship hall to follow.
