The years I worked with Bart at zone 4, and #5 were memoriable. Bart was a hardworker, personable and an honorable man. I enjoyed my time with him on the Pittsburgh Police. He had a quick wit, and expansive knowledge of procedure. He loved his family deeply, and was an all around good guy.
My family and I want to express on sympathy to Bart's family. God Bless you.

Heartfelt condolences to Shirley and all the rest of the family Butch loved so much. I know he could be a tough guy - a Marine and a police officer - but I also saw the other side of him. He was the guy who stopped late one winter night and picked up a cat that he saw half frozen in the slush on a street car island. He saved that cat. R.I.P. Butch

Dear Skala Family,
Bart was good man and a great office. When he went to work for Kilbuck, the local DJ had to put whole lists of traffic offenses into the computer. He taught me so much in traffic court. They don't have cops like Bart anymore

Bart was one of my best friends in the police department. We continued to be friends after we both retired. I will never forget him. I am sure he already has the VASCAR lines set up in heaven, and is hiding behind a cloud. Watch out St. Peter. R.I.P.
