Beatrice A. Costello, 76, a resident of East 12th Street, passed away on November 2 at her home. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Burns) Van Buren and was a graduate of Oswego High School. She was the assistant manager of S and H Green Stamp and was also employed with Green's. For many years she worked the voting polls at the Crisafulli Rink and had hosted political parties. Beatrice was a trustee for the Fairview Cemetery in Bundyville and was an avid Bunco player.
She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir, church treasurer and was also a member of the Ladies Bright and Cheerful Club.
Surviving are husband of 57 years, Leonard Costello; a daughter, Linda Lee Costello; a son, Leonard "Brud" (Janice) Costello Jr.; one grandson, Gregory Costello, all of Oswego; and two cousins, Rev. Ruth Wendt and Sandie Bigness, both of Florida.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from Dowdle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Beatrice Costello to Fairview Cemetery in Bundyville, in care of Willard Spaulding, 2081 County Route 1, Lot 15, Oswego NY 13126.
