Beatrice Jean Simmons

Beatrice Jean Simmons, 95, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her home on May 16, 2024. She is survived by her children, David (Diane), Randy (Valerie) and Leanne (Larry), her grandchildren, Gary, Jennifer, Christopher and Lindsey and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Simmons and her son, Gary Simmons.

Jean Simmons, came into this world during a blustery snow storm, on a farm in Dixon, Missouri on January 4, 1929. At 4 lbs. she was so small she was kept in a shoe box with a hot water bottle. She grew up mirroring the life of what I imagine was her "Little House on the Prairie". She graduated High School at 15 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended OBU and met William Lee Simmons and fell into her role as a Southern Baptist Minister of Music's wife. She taught many Bible studies and Sunday School classes and was loved by all to this day. After her children were grown, she ventured out into the business world with her son, Randy, and ran a successful printing company for many years. Her free time was always spent loving her children and grandchildren. She was a safe place for everyone…….

At her request, there will be a small family gathering in Dixon, Missouri to memorialize her going home, both to her birthplace but more importantly to her forever home in heaven with God. What a wonderful life she lived!
