Belinda Jo "Behe" Gallagher

Belinda "Behe" Jo (Carbagal) Gallagher, 72, Warren, died February 14, 2022 due to complications related to the Covid-19 virus.

Belinda was born October 6, 1949, the eldest child of Joe and Opal Carbagal, Lincoln Park. She was a 1967 graduate (along with members of Detroit's own MC5) of Lincoln Park High School. She went on to study business at Eastern Michigan University, graduating in 1978. Her career includes 15+ years with Comerica Bank, where she worked until retirement in 2011.

Belinda enjoyed attending church, swapping recipes with her mother, spending time with friends and family, playing an occasional game of Euchre and getting out and enjoying nature, whether it be camping or simply walking with friends and loved ones in the woods.

A life-long music fan, attending (lucky!) a Stevie Wonder concert in Detroit when they were both 12 years old. She'd often drag some combination of her four sons, a cousin or two, to an outdoor concert, the beach, Star Wars opening week or a Martin Mull show live in A2 (sic.) Paying the least required attention to the road.

Being the eldest child, much like her beloved mother, she was quick with some maternal concern or advice, wanted or not. Most importantly, she was a great daughter, mother, sister, aunt and person to a lot of mournful people today. RIP, mom.

She is survived by her children, William, Portland, OR; Lawrence, Warren; (favorite) Erik (Maggie Marie) Hinz, Loveland, CO; Akim (Nicole) Hinz, Roseville; and Madison K. Hinz, Warren; her ex-spouse, Lawrence "Jetman", Ecorse; grandchildren, Noah, Ashtyn, Jack and Angelena; siblings, Tony (Denise) Carbagal, Lincoln Park; Thomas Richard (Rick) Carbagal, Romulus; Mary Lynn Guerra (Gary Lee), Plant City, FL; and Tammy, Romulus. Along with many family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Opal Carbagal; sister, Carmella Carbagal; life companion, Thomas Hinz; and sister-friend, Carol Gregory.
