Benjamin Lee Blanton

Benjamin "Benjy" Lee Blanton, 41, of Dameron Rd., died September 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 14, 1974 in Cleveland co. a son of Ray and Jerleen Carswell Blanton of Bessemer City. Benjy was formerly employed by Firestone. Gastonia, Brian Gamble Diesel and Auto, and Timken in Lincolnton. He was a 1992 graduate of Bessemer City High School, enjoyed repairing anything that did not work, and helping everybody. He is preceded in death by a sister Deborah Joan Blanton. Survivors include his parents Ray and Jerleen, maternal grandmother Elizabeth Newton Vaughn of Morganton and brothers Christopher A. Blanton of Conley Springs and Lewis S. Blanton of Bessemer City. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.
