Daggett Christmas Letter - 2024
Hi,
We hope your year has been a blessing to you and your family. I am writing to you the day before Thanksgiving and here are a few of the things that come to mind that we are grateful for.
Melissa joined me this year on our Corvette run on the Tamworth Road Track. She rode with a pro driver and made it around at 126 MPH. We had a couple of overnights and lots of day trips.... all with food!! http://www.lakesregioncorvettes.com/
Pickleball is still a big part of our lives along with a little Corn Hole when vacationing in Aruba. The 3 of us also vacationed in Colorado Springs at church friends that moved there 4 yrs ago. Locally our One Church has several ministries. Kathy is part of several including watching the youngsters during the service. I will help with a 9-week program called Financial Peace thru Dave Ramsey.
Kathy and Melissa attended www.Berea.camp I read about it and volunteered for Man Camp. They put me in charge of keeping the coffee station filled. Do you know how many gallons of coffee 400 men drink? Lots!!!! The FDA says limit to 4 to 5 cups a day. They certainly met that standard & then some.
Our family vacation was on Lake Winona in Conway. I borrowed a paddle board and after a few tries, I was able to stay standing for a long time. I´m not sure if I will buy my own though. Kayaking is still better. Speaking of which, our Pickleball club started a kayaking group and every Tuesday we went Kayaking somewhere in NH with an ice cream run after. Kayaking is done now so the group now walks the trails in Bow & when the snow comes, we will snowshoe. Not bad for a group in their 70´s.
We discovered a program called OLLI. www.UNH.edu/olli It´s nationwide. We signed up for different classes. About $20 each. A couple of hours for 1 or 3 days. In person & some via zoom. All types of subjects. We liked these: Civics, Making Appetizers, Boomwackers, Lavender Farm, AI, Eco-Friendly Funerals. Did you know that you can be buried for under $500? Check it out www.nhfuneral.org
We met up with three friends we had not seen for 30 and 50 years. We now get together for breakfast at least once a month. They are teaching us to play cribbage afterward. I´m not sure I have enough brain cells for that but the 90-year-old in our group says I do! You ask the name of our group? The Breakfast Club of course!!
I continue to work in my Primerica financial planning business after leaving my state supervisor position last year. Now I am working with my client´s children getting them set financially. I have them tune in to our How Money Works zoom presentation every Thursday at 7PM. I wish they taught this in school. Check it out. https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86495126080?pwd=TgzFcNthbJG3jFFpvgfmlKB1i8lZtu.1
Melissa is doing well in her business. She is hosting Thanksgiving. Still bikes and loves Salsa dancing.
Lastly, you. We are grateful for having met you and your family and shared stories and events with each other. We look forward to hearing from you and what you have been up to this year too.
We keep you and your family in our hearts and prayers as we move forward into the next chapter of life next year.
Dennis & Kathy

Hi Son,
Here's the first copy of the Christmas letter.
Daggett - Christmas letter December 2023
Last December on Christmas eve we had a 24-hour power outage. We had a generator, so we were all set however that was only by the grace of God. You see, I bought the generator in December 2016 and only this month did I do any service on the unit. I added a quart of oil! Thank you, Jesus!!!
I bought Kathy a new snow blower for Christmas! What?! She won’t use it because it doesn’t have a cup holder. I guess I’ll have do the driveway.
Taking magic lessons from Dana. Christmas dinner at Melissa’s again this year. Speaking of eating. We are eating out more thanks to Wise & Wonderful at One Church as well as The Dine Out Club where we were reunited with someone that we haven’t seen for over 55 years. The Corvette club with me as VP has been picking up some new trips this year. We have been introduced to Disc Golf and played 18 holes at a course near where Melissa lives. Pickleball is still happening. We have about 100 in our Bow CC club. Lots of play time. We don’t get as much gym time as we would like but that is a goal for next year if we can JUST SAY NO to the requests for other things. We both help with the Sleep In Heavenly Peace program. We both are studying for the Steven Ministry. I helped with the Financial Peace University program at One Church.
I got to help with the Let’s Go Fishing program. Mostly with the ice fishing dates. Not sure why. I don’t like ice fishing. Kathy is working on her knitting with the help of new friends at church. We did a dinner train ride to see the foliage in September.
I got a taste of Transient Global Amnesia but all is well with me now as far as I can remember. ;) Kathy’s health has held up well and she is back to playing Pickleball and walks every day, goes to the gym. We even tried a TRX class at the Zoo. Good workout but tooooo close to each other. Went fishing up north with Paul. The water was high, but we lucked out between rainstorms and went home with a boat load of trout.
A couple of big events happened in March. First was we crashed a wedding! Melissa’s college friend was getting married, and we wentto https://www.hotelxcaret.com/ Mexico! It was more $$$ than I would have ever spent on a vacation, but we didn’t have a 50th party so this is it. OMG, I would go back in a heartbeat. Soooooo later this year we went to visit the newlyweds in Lancaster PA with Melissa. What a great time.
The Second event was my resignation from my 15-year security supervisor position with the NH Court system. I only planned on being there a couple of years! Why stop now, you ask? It stopped being fun.
I am still working with my Primerica clients. I hope to get some items on my “Honey Do” list done this year..including removal of a lot of “stuff” accumulated over 35 years here in Bow. The best way is to put it on the calendar if I expect to get to it. That way if someone asks for a favor, I am booked.
Aruba happened again and Dave and Sindy visited us the second week. She only speaks Español so we both studied Spanish using Duolingo app for a couple of years so it helped us communicate a bit easier with her. They both loved it and are considering buying a unit. Later that Summer we spent a week at a camp on the water in Conway with the family. Perfect area for kayaking. Tried fishing but no luck. Brought my corn hole boards and got beat by everyone.
Blessing to all,
Dennis & Kathy

Happy 40th Birthday Ben !!!
Forty years young. WOW. Lee called with birthday wishes. Bill was in the hospital so she couldn't visit with flowers like she always did. So your mother and I cooked up a chicken and broccoli casserole and brought it over to her so she didn't have to cook while taking care of Bill.
Your mother is pretty much back to good health. We played pickleball yesterday and she did well. Just a little sore where she got hit on the leg with a ball. She is fine otherwise.
Off to Mexico next month for Alison's destination wedding. We are making this our 50th wedding anniversary gift to each other as COVID put a squash on any celebration 2021. After that we go to Aruba once again for a couple of weeks. Yeaaaa!! :)
Love you a ton son,
Dad, Mom and Melissa

Hi Ben,
We love you son. Here is the first Christmas Letter.
Dad & Mom
Daggett Christmas Letter 2022
After more than a year and a half, Kathy’s health improved from NDE to recently playing pickleball again. The calendar was peppered with daily calls or visits to the Doctors or ER. My job allowed me to take her to most of them. It was only after a half dozen doctors and a dozen pills that she was able to get some sleep and some relief from pain. We even got a PEMF mat. Look it up on YouTube. She still carries her cushion with her to sit on wherever we go.
We saw the passing of several people this year. I will spare you with a list however, one needs mentioning as she was a big part of our family for a long time. That lady was Pauline Lessard. She was my real estate business partner and Melissa and Ben’s Godmother. She lived life her way on her terms. All 91 years.
We went of a few trips. Yes, Aruba for sure. Donna and Leo joined us. I helped with the F & G Ice Fishing Derby. A couple of overnights with the Corvette club. My club visited a private racetrack in Tamworth, and we all got to race around the track. I managed to keep the car in one piece. I also got voted in as VP. I flew out to California for a seminar with one of Primerica’s mutual fund partners. Lots of new business ideas there.
I volunteered with Make-A-Wish for an overnight event. I also volunteered with AARP and got approved to help people prepare their taxes. One of the other volunteers I met was also a magician. We got to talking and me meet once a month to show me some tricks, mostly with cards.
I am still working with the court system. I enjoyed working at home when COVID started. That has changed over the past several months. We have lost several men, and no one is applying for the positions. As a supervisor I am expected to fill in. At first, I didn’t mind helping. It is now almost a year and I have decided it is gone on long enough. The per diems will get a $30 a day raise while the supervisors will get $1.86 an hour raise. Not much incentive to continue this part time job that turned into a full-time nightmare.
I expect to play more pickleball, do some fly fishing and camp out with my fishing buddy at least once this coming year. Kathy and I need to finally get a yard sale done this spring or summer. It’s been 40 years of accumulations. We are also looking forward to a March destination wedding in Mexico. This will take the place of no 50th anniversary due to COVID. The place we are going to is like a Disney for adults.
We are so looking forward to 2023. We both need to get back to the basics and destress. I pray that all your hopes and dreams will start to develop.
May God Bless,
Dennis & Kathy

February 17, 2022
Hi Ben,
Happy 39th birthday! We are all whole food plant based, as you know, however we would partake in cake and ice cream with you, should you pop by for a visit. Ha ha!
Your mother is getting better health wise. Melissa is working with the church planning on a mission trip to Africa in the fall as well as volunteering at the food pantry for the needy. I don't know where she gets all her energy. God has certainly blessed in ways that I cannot understand right now.
I am still working at the court house. I enjoy playing pickleball several times a week and volunteer with AARP preparing tax returns for the needy. This is a little strange as I flunked accounting one in college twice!
We LOVE YOU and send you a big hug,
Dad, Mom and Melissa

The Daggett Clan - 2021 Christmas Letter
Well. I am going to make this short but not so sweet I’m afraid. I wasn’t at going to write one however, I am sitting here on Christmas eve and motivated, ever so slightly by a recent email chat with Melissa on the power of letter writing to release stress. So, I will put it to the test. It will go to only one person whom I know will only share it with those that seek it out. That person is Ben, and it will be on his Legacy.com page.
To start with, both of us are fully vaccinated against COVID including the COVID BOOSTER. So, if you’re still reading, here goes. Historically we have been fortunate to have had great health and only needed an annual checkupthat is, until this year! In March, the day before my birthday, I had a hernia. Not to be out done, Kathy had a knee replacement in her birthday in May. Just to clinch the deal she added a couple of rounds of diverticulitis, a couple of UTIs, acid reflux, and other lady part issues. The treatment is antibiotics. LOTS of antibiotics. It kills all the bad bacteria in you as well as ALL the GOOD bacteria.
Still with me? Now she can’t eat. She’s losing weight fast and is now down to her high school weight. It causes stress of not knowing how much more it’s going down. You don’t feel like eating, you don’t feel like going out because you must stay within 15 minutes of a bathroom. You are uncomfortable and can’t stand, sit, or lay without pain. Several tearful trips to the ER. Several appointments to Drs Dewer, Siddiqui, Dillon, Johnson, Morrisette, Ferger, Jones and Barber. She is now on 22 different medications and a Tens Unit for sciatic pain and gut repair. Some meds have replaced others. One cost $1,500!!!!
The lack of sleep is probably as big an issue as the sciatic. Without sleep, the body CANNOT repair itself. Kathy is with in a month from having another injection in her spine like 3 years ago. That should make a world of difference. Once that has taken effect, she should be able to get rid of half of the drugs at least. I will stop there about this, so you don’t think we didn’t have some good times.
We did get to Aruba. The two weeks were a little different. She had to go to the ER and found out she had stomach issues. We made it through the two weeks and shipped home. We also had a family vacation set for the Cape. She was miserable but wanted to go. Probably just to please me. We went to the CAPE. It was not quite what we expected. The person in a third bedroom had to go though our bedroom to go to the bathroom. Outside of our bedroom was a hot tub on the deck that ran every hour for 20 minutes, just enough time to wake you all night. Lastly the streetlight outside our bedroom went on every time someone came in the parking area, which was a LOT!
After getting no sleep, she decided to call it quits and leave a couple days early. We were close enough and went home but didn’t get any better sleep there because of the gut issues. It was a nice spot. I played pickleball in the next town a few times. We went out to eat at least once. We all enjoyed watching the rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, and birds feed of off the pet cemetery shrine the camp owner erected in memory of his dogs just outside our glass slider. Melissa and I biked several miles along the waters edge on a paved way for bikes and walking.
Now, most of you know that Christmas is Kathy’s favorite holiday. This year she didn’t want to do anything. No decorations. No tree. I didn’t want to do the Christmas letter or send cards. We did send generic cards to those that sent one to us. No letter or note. She didn’t even want anyone over for the meal or go Christmas shopping. No presents. Melissa stepped up and has put together an awesome menu and will host us and the LaFonds. Lyn made us a wooden Christmas tree with lights that we displayed on our kitchen table. That was a nice surprise.
So right now, she is stable in her weight loss, looking forward to the shot in January some time. She appreciates all the prayers and well wishes. She knows it all temporary and is handling it. I drive her to the appointments because some of the drugs don’t wear off the wooziness until late morning. These appointments are our social life. I am sure it is temporary.
As bad as this may seem, we are lucky in respect to others that we know that have had to go through COVID. We don’t know of anyone that passed of COVID but have been to several funerals this year, the latest is her cousin. They have talked a couple times a week for years.
One hour now until Christmas so I will close. I look forward to a great 2022 for both our families. Until next year, may God bless you.

Covid Daggett Christmas 2020 (the other CDC)
Before Covid: We enjoyed a Murder Mystery dinner show. All attendees played a part in the show. We both attended a Klemmer event in Colorado for a week. Lots of fun stuff: hiking, free fall, zip line and workshops.
Pickle Ball – our very good friends, Paul & Lyn, introduced us to this fun game. I tried it as a favor but we didn’t think we would love it the way we do! I also took Reiki courses and Kathy took classes at Concord Center some of which were canceled..you guessed it, because of Covid.
Health and Welfare: November was packed with doctor and dentist visits for us both. That seemed to be our social calendar for the month! D – shoulder injury from a full contact Pickle Ball summersault. K – 5 year issue with knee. She may have to go under the knife next year. I am trying to get used to tri-focals! Don’t laugh, your day is coming. Maybe by then they will have eye replacements and you get to choose the color eye. I would get one black and one blue. Can you imagine the story I could make up with that choice!!!
Then came COVID 19 Put on hold are Ireland, Aruba, Corvette events, San Diego, Fish & Game, Make A Wish wishes. I should have bought stock in ZOOM. Primerica meetings on zoom. Clients like it. I now work from home for the Courts. Educational classes, Tai Chi, Meditation. Church, pilates and boxing. Zooming was pretty neat as we were able to view our church in Concord and Melissa’s church in Manchester at the same time! Now I wonder if that means I can skip a week here and there?! I helped with www.shpbeds.org Sleep in Heavenly Peace charity making bunk beds for kids. Check the website & see their great work. I was the person staining the beds.
VT family camp in July for another great week. Donna & Leo, Melissa & us finished two puzzles that week. We are getting very good at the 1,000 piece thing. Bike ride with Melissa and swam to the island again. Next year we are changing it up a bit and heading South a little. Stay tuned. We planned weekend dinner themes with Melissa throughout summer and fall. Themes focused on Aruban, Moroccan, American, plant based whole food and French cuisines.
Summer social distancing day trips to the beach with Melissa and Paul. Private social distance pool party at Mal’s. We met with some Corvette friends & enjoyed a lunch at the Mount Washington Hotel. Beautiful surroundings. Visit with the Brown’s at their new water-view camp. They have a great story. Lots of energy!
Acadia National Park, Maine. Mountain climb. Not a hike or walk in the woods! Mountain climbing! About 1 degree of incline away from needing ropes and carabineers. So proud of Kathy for getting it done. It made the next day’s hike a walk in the park all though it rained unexpectedly and we got soaked!!!. We enjoyed the hot tub at the Glamping camp ground on our return. If you have to tent camp, glamping is the way to go. We hope to do a Park each year until we see them all. If not, Melissa has to finish.
We know of no one that passed on this year because of COVID 19. Those passed include: Jayne D – Vette friend, 66yrs; Danny D, 95 yrs, & Glenna D, 82yrs. I am proud to say they have been our second family for decades. Oscar Roy, firefighter,75yrs; Alan M, 50yrs – suicide re:Alz; Roger G, firefighter, 71yrs; Patrick R, 76yrs-HA; Ken J, 80yrs –stroke; Jean Lemay -5/23/2019 heart issues.
Please drop us a line or two if you can. We would love to hear from you. Now, see if you can find Ben in the picture!
Love and God’s Blessings to you and your families,
Dennis & Kathy

Happy 37th Birthday Ben,
Hope it warmer there than it is here. Your godmother Pauline turned 89 a couple of days ago. Her twin daughters both had knee surgeries and only one could make it to Pauline's party at the nursing home. Your mother is meeting her cousin Suzanne in Manchester at the Puritan for their annual get together. Your sister is doing great. A few bumps in the road relationship wise but she is coping better than most would. We all are involved in Klemmer Leadership and Personal Development. It has helped and hope to notice a big change before long. Speaking of change, I have finally committed to competing in a bodybuilding contest before the year is up for my 70th birthday next month. Your invited! :)

Daggett 2019 Christmas Letter
It has been a great year for us. So much planned for next year already.
We have both been in good health Well except for me bouncing off a couple of trees at a mountain bike park chasing after Melissa! Kathy and I are still going to PF Gym. She has done a couple of hikes with friends and the ladies bible group. One was a 2-hour hike. NO THANK YOU very much. The mens group did a few things like race go carts, hiking, mini golf. Another mountain bike ride with them too. I snuck Melissa in that Mens event. They couldnt keep up with her! OMG! Still practice TM, Tai Chi, fly fished a little (very little sadly), kayak in VT too.
Still working at the Courts. Also completing 30 years as a Financial Coach. All those that I helped back in the day now need me to coach their kids. OMG! Lots of people need a lot of help out there today. I wish there were 2 of me!!!
In our spare time we help the church with a couple of events geared to help the homeless. We helped with a couple of Make A Wish events. I was a Wish Grantor for a young lady that wanted to go to Disney. Helped with the Fish & Game Lets Go Fishing classes for ice fishing. I am on the Lakes Region Corvette Club BOD as member at large. Still not sure what I have to do or what it means!!!
We had a lot of one day events and parties but I want to skip right to the overnights or you may all fall asleep reading like I did..and Im writing it! I count 56 days and nights away from home. Lets start with Kathy in Titusville FL for 9 days. ARUBA for 14 glorious days. NH Leadership Retreat 3 days. NH Meditation retreat 2 days. I couldnt believe how fast that time went! Bee seminar in NY 2 days. PFS convention at the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in GA 6 days- HUGE Lake Ninevah VT family camp out 7 days. I swam across to the island believe it or not. Club Cabin Fever 2 days.
The last trip deserves its own paragraph. We went with 8 other Corvettes to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY on a 9 day tour. We drove about 2,000 miles. The only mishap was one car low on oil but we all had spares to keep him full. Along the way we stopped off at least a dozen sites. Lourey Caverns in Virginia was my favorite, Tail of the Dragon (look that one up on You Tube) and yes we rode it successfully. Rode a river boat with show and dinner as Captains guests. Caught a show at the Grand Ole Oprey. Made Knob Creek Whiskey at Jim Beam. Toured Nashville for a couple of days and nights. Spent the day at the Kentucky Derby and had a private tour. Drove (not so cautiously) on Skyline Drive. That was a primer drive for Tail of the Dragon. We all climbed Chimney Rock. We left at 4am to come home. On the way we stopped at a diner. We had a great time. I splurged one last time. I tried the cannoli French toast layered in maple syrup (fake) and mounds of whipped cream. It was more than even I could handle. The waitress was great. She said she never had real maple syrup. We got her name and address. We all put together a decorator gift box for her filled with maple syrup, raw honey and maple candy. I would have liked to have been there when she opened the box. It was a great trip, but it was good to land back in NH. I think we slept for two days!!!
As we close out the year, we leave behind a few friends. Gordon L (LRCC), Bob B 73 (Limo man), Al S (CSO), Tom (CSO), Joyce F (MDA family), Danielle H (35). Peace be with you all.
Time to say good by for now. Kathy and I pray that the holidays and 2020 are all that you envisioned them to be. We would love for you to include a line or two about what is happening in your life if you would like to share some thoughts.
Blessings to you all this Christmas season,
Dennis & Kathy

2018 Daggett Christmas Letter
Well I usually have this done and mailed by now and here I sit December 1st wondering if there is anything of interest that I can share that would be of interest or at least not break the confidentiality agreement that is in place.I hate eating cold beans out of a can while hiding in a dark closet!
We had a couple if interesting activities that included the Ballet, a couple first place awards for our honey at the Fryburg, ME fair, the Manchester Millyard Museum held an event for the Firefighers 40th anniversary of the one and only strikemy first year on the job. I helped out instructing with the Fish and Game ice fishing groups. No one caught anything.
We were trippin with the Corvette club to Cape Cod for 3 days. Our family camp was at Mt Holly, VT again. Leo caught a trophy bass.with my worms! I caught nothing. A 3 day fishing trip in Pittsburg yielded me one fish.so small we couldnt identify it! Do you see a pattern forming here yet?
As party animals, we attended a 5th, a 40th and a 50th anniversary. A wedding, baby shower and christening for the same couple they are extreme multi-taskers. Baseball games, pool parties, 4th of July was viewed for a 9th floor penthouse apartmentOOOOOH say can you see A barn dance, at least 6 Christmas parties.Kathy said it was 7. And we wonder why we cant lose a few pounds??? I guess fat and happy is my calling! J
The year would not be complete without achieving a goal or two. Here are some firsts for us. Fly tying classes for both of us. Learning to play pickle ball. Full contact tennis ending with Paul spending 2 days in Aruba Hospitals ER. They bathed him in chocolate ice cream and he was fineits an Aruban thing I guess! Lastly, I tried a float tub at a local spa. What a feeling. Its like meditation on steroids. Look that on up on you tube.
With all this pleasure comes a little pain. Kathy is recouping nicely from 2 slipped discs.. working out at the gym. No really, it was leg day! She tried an epidural shot. So far so good. As for me, I have a screw loose. No really, I do! Why does no one believe me?! You cant make this stuff up. My dentist will fix it. Apparently it is common with implants.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends and family that have passed this year including Fern L (83, cancer, godfather-in-law), John W (73, heart, MDA).
God Bless you all this Christmas and a very Happy 2019, Dennis & Kathy
For Christmas 2018.

Hi Ben,
Happy 35th (and 1 day) birthday! We got back today from a weekend get away and your sister is leaving tomorrow with a college chum to Bermuda for a week. She is doing great at the spa and could use the break.
I have attached a photo that I plan to use for the Christmas newsletter later this year. What do you think?
God bless and all our love,

The Daggetts 2017 Christmas Letter
We enjoyed the Ice Castles in Lincoln NH with LRCC, our Corvette club (see Christmas card photo). We also went with them to the Finger Lakes in NY for 4 days. Lots of vineyards out there. Days before that we drove to Indianapolis for a Primerica convention in Lucas Stadium & both got to ride in NASCAR & Indy cars.
Other faves include Aruba & first-time tennis lessons, family vacation camp on Lake Ninevah, VT with the loon island reserve, the girls only weekend in a posh York Beach ME home for Kathy, Melissa & Donna.
We got an exciting visit from long lost friends Felix & Linda L visiting from CO as well as Oscar & Flo R from FL. Kim and Chris K moved back here from the Netherlands and stopped in before moving on to their new home in SC. Lots to catch up on. A visit to them is on our bucket list.
Working with Primerica since 1989 I got my Investment Advisor license I now work with company 401k and family retirement plans. BTW I am looking for 3 special people to mentor for a new Concord office in 2018.
We hired a nutrition coach to break our weight plateau. It worked. We can share it with anyone that is interested. We still eat well. Just ask these people that invited us to dinner: Paul & Lyn T, Paul & Irene D, Mike & Linda G (love the boat ride), Kim & Chris K. Add to that: Carol J Christmas party, Ken & Kathy K bee partyyes with mead, Leah & Allen B Christmas event, Lawler barn dance, Rick & Barbara pool party, Gary M barbeque, Linda & Brad D cookout (LRCC), Paul T pool time. Norm & Mal T pool party, Thanksgiving at Melissas. Nice diet huh?
We helped out the needy at our church, I helped other firefighters build a two story tree house for Make A Wish. Now I want one. OMG!! I volunteer as a fishing instructor with Fish & Game. My first was an ice fishing group.no one caught anything! It wasnt me!
Health issues include Kathys rotator cuff surgery and now looking at knee issues. The down time gave Kathy time to learn the cable stitch for the first time. We also went to her 50th high school reunion. I seem to be doing ok.so far.
Both of us dropped our gym membership after it went from $20 to $60 each in one year! Biking for me, kayaking for us both. Still working on perfecting Tai Chi & the perfect batch of popcorn. Hey, ya gotta have your priorities in order!
Going into the winter with one strong bee hive. Not a good year for my bees. I worked as sous-chef in Marriott Hotel (for a half day). That wasnt even on my bucket list. I photographed a wedding on the SS Mt Washington during a torrential downpour. No ice burg and yes, they are still married!
Other special moments include a Father Day hike up Mt Kearsarge with Melissa for me and Mother Day movie & dinner with daughter. Making donuts with Melissa. I cant believe we ate the whole batch! Mother daughter massages & lunch for Melissas BD. Trans-Siberian Orchestra with Mel & Kathy.
We fondly remember those that have gone home: Ben passed on Dec 1st 2001. His friend passed on Dec 2ndPete L (31) MD/cancer; Harriet F (81); Timer B (99) (fire dept); Dave L (69) cancer; Larry W (72) cancer; Marsha B (67) CC; Uncle Don L (81) cancer.

The Daggett's - 2016 Christmas Letter
Before I tell you about the snowball Kathy is holding I want to update you on a few things we are up to. Out favorite pastime was participating in over dozen events throughout the year with the Lakes Region Corvette Club. This is a drive and dine club that included a few overnights such as Killington VT and Ogunquit, ME. In the summer and additional ice cream runs and dinner throughout NH kept us cool. Did I mention I sold the 1989 red Roadster and we got a 2005 black Roadster (convertible)?
The year started off with ice fishing with Paul D then fly fishing with Paul T. Both of us attended a weekend Fish & Game class in fly fishing in Colebrook. I am going to work with the Fish & Game to teach fly fishing. That should set the sport back a few years!
We completed Tai Chi, all 108 moves. I got to train with Master Ying here in NH on a visit from China. Now practice, practice, practice! The old gym closed and the new gym has pool classes so Kathy is enjoying aqua zumba & both practice yoga. The Vette club replaced some kayak dates but we did manage a few days on the water including in Aruba and at the family vacation on Crawford Pond in Union, ME. Kathy, Ken & Jackie joined us in Aruba.
We are still bee keepers. I had about 10 hives but lost a couple. I hope to have 4 or 5 left in the spring. I was interviewed for a bee keeping article. It was published in the June/July issue of Modern Pioneer. We made our first batch of creamed honey. We were 7th in the NH Beekeepers honey contest.
Parties & more: Our 3rd Annual Cider Donut Bonfire, Pauline L's surprise birthday, Donna L's surprise 60th(she surprised us by putting it on herself after her hubby started it), New Years at Paul and Irene's, Fire Department retirees Christmas dinner, lunch with the MDA gang, dinner with Mike & Linda G, Paul D's fish fry, Paul and Irene's 45th anniversary party, Labor Day at Lorraine's lawn party, Lawler's barn dance
Kathy, Melissa and Donna headed for the beach for a girls get away weekend and took in the Trans Siberian Orchestra later in the year together.
So, about that snowball. The snowball that Kathy is holding on the enclosed card is one that I brought home from a visit to Berlin on October 24th. I wonder what she is going to get me for Christmas.
For years Melissa has been part of different spas. In November she opened up her own business with 3 large rooms. She designed the layout, decorated, got fixtures, lighting, furniture, painted, got signage & business cards. She dealt with licenses & city, fire & state approvals to open MEKA Body & Skincare. If it sounds like it all went smoothly, it didn't. Just weeks before opening a leak in the roof of the 3 story building forced the replacement of the back wall to the studs and a new floor. Now she's finally up and running and doing great. Visit her at www.MEKABodyAndSkincare.com
We fondly remember our friends & relatives that have passed on. Raina C 88 - Dave S 58 cancer Cheryl G 40's stroke.
May God bless you all this holiday season,
Dennis & Kathy

Mr. and Ms. Daggett,
You probably don't remember me, but Ben and I went to school together probably 20 years ago. We were just kids, and I don't remember much from those years when I lived in Bow. But I did want you to know that Ben had popped into my head today. I don't know what prompted me to think of him after all of this time, but a memory of him just appeared in my mind. I remember him as a great childhood friend, and I wish I had kept in touch with him through our teenage years. I know that he left an impression with all of those lives he touched, and continues to. I'm so sorry for your loss and my belated condolences go out to you. Ben- one day I know that we will have a reunion and catch up on the years we missed. God bless.

Daggett 2015 Christmas Letter
Dining with Paul & Lyn T, Paul & Irene D, Ken & Kathy K, & Frank & Judy P. Kathy went to Hampton beach several times with Irene, Lorraine and once to York Beach with Melissa. Danny D's 90th BD. Attended Palace Theater comedy night. Both of us signed up for Medicare. What a zoo that was.
I got to experience 3D archery with the Kuhn's. It's like shooting at a movie screen. I recommend it. Pittsfield fishing with Paul T. Hunting got me deer! Yeah!!!! Went to a UNH pruning demo and then trimmed my apple trees and now I have applessome up to 4 inches in diameter. Who knew?? This year I will attack my blueberries and raspberries.
We joined AMC Paddlers and went on several kayak paddles all over NH this year including one 15 mile paddle down the Merrimack River. We added a 17' kayak to our fleet.
I spoke as an instructor at this year's Bee School. Pray for these poor students!! We had 3 hives going into last winter and we now have 6 after my splits. Trip to NY Betterbee event. We got accepted into the Bedford Craft Guild and sold Muth jars of honey. Melissa & Craig joined us at the Lawler Farm Barn Dance. Tons of food, great music and friends.
Arubawhat more is there to say. Melissa bought me a diving package for Father's Day & Craig and I dove to 30 feet. Clear as a bell and comfortable without a wet suit. We went 4 wheeling and dove in the secluded pool. We were invited to an Aruban family's home to dine with them. Great fun. Kathy retired in July and loving it.
Family camp was on Ossipee Lake this year. We held the 2nd Apple Cider Donut Bonfire with Melissa achieving another record breaking fire. Thanksgiving at Melissa's. I made flavored butter, bisque, and pumpkin seeds.
Kathy & Melissa attend a weekend Fish & Game camp on Squam Lake, Kathy shot a rifle for the first time and learned about trapping game animals, outdoor cooking & emergency kayaking practices. I wanted to do something special for my 65th so Melissa & I signed up for Tough Mudder. We finished the 10.1 mile course and 21 obstacles. Kathy was following us with a camera for most of the run. In addition to that above, we log a lot of gym time going Yoga, boot camp, jogging, biking, zumba, tai chi & Mindfulness studies. We also cut down 10 trees on the lotyes BOTH of us.
Erin and Jay's wedding was the highlight of my photography this year. Melissa was the maid of honor & the bride's maids were all close friends since UNH. For photos of this event or any of the events mentioned check Face Book.
We took a few rides in the Corvette and attended a couple of car shows. That will all change next year. Stay tuned
Took a trip to Florida to see Shirley S as she is not in good health. Five months after we left, Shirley's husband passed away. Duane was 83. While in FL we were the guests of Dave S thanks to Melissa & Craig making the arrangements. Kathy also got to drive a speed boat for the first time. Those poor dolphins!! Terri and Jerry S, were up from FL visiting. Jerry is also in ill health. Once again, 2 months after their visit Terri passed away.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of friends we bid a final farewell to: Gary G (firefighter, 60), Paul T (firefighter 73), Terri S (Primerica, 66), Duane S (Church of Christ, 83). Bob M (photographed 50 wedding anniversary, 82)
Kathy and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.
God Bless,
Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
Here is the Christmas letter for 2014. We love you and miss you dearly.

Daggett 2014 Christmas Letter
Health & exercise: Snowshoeing, Kayaking, gym time, snorkeling (Aruba), archery, biking, hiking, tree cutting 12 so far, fishing, hunting, power lifting. Last December hip surgery recovery completed without complications. We got our second Hep shot so I guess we will survive another wild time at Carol Js.
Bee stuff: I lost 2 hives this past winter. I shadowed Ken & Kathy K and Troy H for a more advanced look at what I needed to do. More insight from state & local meetings & a pilgrimage to Better Bee in NY. I replaced the 2 lost hives & now have 5. I thought this was supposed to bee easy!! I was able to acquire a set of kitchen cabinets that I put into my shed. Lyn T. helped me extend the roof so I could put the tractor under cover outside. Now the shed is devoted to all things bees. We guest spoke at the library on bee keeping. There was sitting room only.
Out and about: Church wildlife game dinner. Dana Center showing of Oh Canada, Meredith Ice Fishing Derby Turkey calling/hunting seminar. White tail deer hunting seminar. Fishing with Paul T. I caught trout & he hooked himself in the ear. Not as easy as you may think?K.according to the ER Doc. Parties at Dr Gs, Lorraine S, Ken & Joyce T, Paul & Lyn T, Paul & Irene D, Betty A, Carol J, Mal & Norm T, Kathy to Hampton Beach 5 times! I am saving myself for Aruba.
Family stuff: Melissa asked Dad to join her at a spa conference in Boston. They needed people to volunteer for a new type of facial treatments. It turned out to be laser treatment!!! I need to learn to ask more questions next time. Car shows & a few Corvette rides in the country exploring the roads less traveled. I did this after I had the mechanics removed 7 mice from the heater fan! Maybe I can recycle the mice at the next wild game dinner!! WHAT!! Aruba for 2 weeks...need I say more? We tried deep sea fishing. It is NOT for the faint of heart. Family vacation to Cabot VT. Yes we visited Cabot Cheese, the winery and discovered the Red Door Bakery.pies LOTS of pies!!! While in NY we visited the Howes Caves at 156 feet down. Kathy & Melissa to ball game. We learned how to make Kefer and Kumbacha. Lawler Barn Dance we didn't dance but we ate healthy in the beginning! Palace Theatre to see The Full Monte. At Melissa's suggestion we got together to make Apple Cider Donuts & a bon fire. People were added one by one & it turned out to be sooooo much more. Looks like this might be an annual event now...but were gonna need more wood pallets! LOTS more. Kathy & Melissa to NY City to see The Phantom of The Opera???
Melissa asked Dad to join her at an event the Fish & Game was putting on at a weekend retreat on Squam Lake called BOW. We were going to classes on kayaking (got to hold a $400 feather weight paddle), rifle shooting (Melissa had great form), fishing with lures (we fished & made lures), mountain biking (challenging ride). We ate like royalty complete with ice cream bar...me and 149 women. Oh, did I mention that BOW stands for Become An Outdoors Women??? Yeah. Wait for it... Wait for it... I need to learn to ask more questions next time.
Shhhhhhhhhh: Not sure if this will make the final draft so if it does, don't tell anyone!! We all hate it when we go through major stress situations. We especially hate it when our own kids go through it. Well how about 4 major stressors this year? Her decree became final, she refinanced the home into her name, she changed business locations & staff and lastly, found out that it was her year to search for next year's family vacation camp! She made it through all that, so I surprised her with 473 helium balloons in her spa room to cheer her up. Her next client was due in 10 minutes.
Photography: Photo Seminar at Bedford Winery. Good idea, drink until you like the photos. Photo Shows at SOPHA in Manchester. First photo shoot for clothing & one event for Memorial High School 45 year reunion.
Friends that have passed along: Emile S. (fire fighter, 88, heart), Mike (dance instructor, 50?, cancer), Ethel B (88, natural), Gerry O. (dance, cancer, 60), Bob B (cancer, 61), Clarence C. (95), Algie B (cancer, 65), Nora C (101).
Merry Christmas & God Bless you all, Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
Here's the first peek at the Christmas letter for you. We love and miss you son. Love, Dad & Mom

??Daggett Christmas Letter - 2013
We couldn't tell you about our Ballroom dance lessons or personal trainers in last years letter because we wanted to surprise Melissa when she joined us in Aruba this past Spring. And yes, she was surprised. We rode 4 wheelers for the first time and if you haven't ridden a 4 wheeler in Aruba, you haven't ridden a 4 wheeler!
I took fly fishing lessons for the 1st time, went smelting for 1st time with Paul D. and got zip but the stories were great. I went deep sea fishing with Paul D...no luck. Kathy rode in a golf cart for the first time. I tried a cheese making class with Paul T. It was an adventure to say the least. Before we left, the instructor tried to convince us we needed one of her baby pigs for $100. I should have gotten one for Melissa. I don't think she's allergic to them and she wanted a pet! Don't tell her. I may surprise her with one on her birthday December 7th
Our bees made it through the winter and I added a couple more hives. Tons of honey....now you know why we hired personal trainers. Still photographing weddings. Sadly one of my brides (54 yrs) passed away this year from cancer after being married only 4 months.
July summer vacation in Vermont. Fishing trip to Pittsburg, NH. Tried singing lesson. After the 3rd lesson the teacher said she would call me... I am still waiting! We rode bikes, kayaked, hiked and snowshoed with Paul & Lyn. Cook outs at Paul & Irene's camp. ???????????????????! Lots of special days with the Paul's & their wives
Right hip started giving me some problems. Coincidently,it started right around the time we were taking ball room dance lessons. Tried Cortisone shot, but nothing. Hip replacement scheduled 12/11/2013.
Kathy went to the beach several times with the girls Irene, Melissa, & Lorraine. Surprise 60th BD cookout for Bob B. It was the most memoriable occasion Carol has put on yet! This year all the attendees had to go to a special clinic to get Hepititus A shots. Will we go to her event next year? Heck yeah! We can't wait to see how she will top this year's event!
Melissa attended the Nascar race in Loudon. Kathy enjoying Bible study class at a new church. She has read about 10 books this year. We were loyal to Hannaford long enough. We switched to Market Basket and have saved a ton of money. What can I say, we are slow learners!!!
Kathy got rear- ended in her 2012 Prius $600 damage. I traded my 2011 Blue Prius for a 2013 Blue Prius....I never said I had an imagination. Besides, they say if it's not broken, break it, or something like that. I tiled Melissa's bathroom floor. Still have the touch!! A few church suppers with Marty and Maureen.
Friends passing: Dick C, fellow firefighter and the person responsible for my Vette (59, Cancer).
God Bless You All This Merriest of Seasons.
Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
Here's this years Christmas letter. We love you and miss you.
------------------
2012 Daggett Christmas Letter
Another year has gone by already! We hiked, weekend fishing trip, kayaked in NH & VT, lots of dinners with friends, 2 deep sea fishing trips, a cookout at Carol's, one cookout at Barbara's and one at Elaine's the same day…..yes, we made them both!! Camp cookout and chillin' at some friends camp on the lake. We went to a barn dance at a neighbor's home. Live band, everyone brought some food to share. I can tell this is going to be a yearly event. Some other parties like Maureen's 65th BD & Glenna's 80th BD parties, not to mention Cristen's college grad party after which she went off to see the world!!!
Both of us are spending time at the gym to keep up with all this activity. So far it's working. I dusted off my bow and practice with a friend in Auburn. $150 to upgrade with better sights and carbide arrows. It was either that or $1,000 for a new bow that I would have liked.
Kathy has read about 15 novels this year. I still stick to the movie version. Kathy's Volvo got traded for a Prius. So we are now a 2 Prius family. What ARE we going to do with all that gas money we saved?! We gave the electric cook stove away and got the gas one we have wanted for a long time. Kathy is cookin' up a storm when she isn't tending to all the plants around the property.
Attended photo classes, a weekend photo conference in Conway, a 15 model group shoot at the farm in Deerfield. I am hanging some prints at Melissa's spa and have already sold one. I shot 4 weddings and have one planned for 2013, an engagement shoot and a family portrait. I did 2 fun fashion shoots with family and friends. I photographed a retiring judge and the portrait is now hanging in Hooksett court. I took part in a city wide charity photo event to give low income families a family portrait. Over 100 volunteers and 300 families took part.
We renovated our theater room – 110” 3D projection screen and electric recliners….and the popcorn machine. We have a little bit of heaven here at home.
I started bee keeping. Yea, that's what Kathy said too. ? I got lucky and had a honey harvest in my first year. I sold it at a farm up north and in Melissa's spa. Lots of demand for it. Who would have known!
The Vette only got out a few times this year. We didn't even get to one auto show!! We both flew a radio controlled plane. Great fun. I may have to add that to my bucket list.
The summer vacation this year was the end of August at Popham Beach in Maine. Nice spot. We were positioned so that we saw both the sunrise and sunset. Over 1000 photos taken. Brian now has a permanent job with a company so no more temp jobs. Next month, however, Donna's job will end.
We remember these friends & relatives that have passed away – Mike S (48 - emphesema), Roland S (65 - heart), Lyn's mom & dad, Brian F (40 – Muscular Dystrophy).
All our best to you and your family,
Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
I moved back to Deltona and visited the spot where you and Melissa with mom and dad went on an adventurous ride on the "air boat"! You were tiny then and although the boat broke down you and Melissa remained calm with mom and dad and came back with stories that remain in our memories forever! I am happy to have many other memories of you and family! Miss you, you are never forgotten. Happy Birthday!

Hi Ben,
Here's the first copy of the Christmas Letter. We love you and miss you.

Daggett 2011 Christmas Letter
Snow shoeing with Paul & Lyn start off the year. It only happened once because of the cold or lack of snow when it was warm. Even if it doesn't snow we still dropped in on them anyway & they still feed us. ?
Last December I was promoted to Supervisor of Plymouth, Littleton, Berlin, Conway & Colebrook courts with the hours reduced to 4 days a week. That's 3,000 miles a month travel so I traded the 97 Volvo in for a Prius at 50mpg. Entered the Vette in a show and won 2nd place.
Five year old computer died so had new one built. Was supposed to be lightning fast but isn't! Maybe need a new wireless modem. Maybe I will just enjoy it's slowness and take a well deserved nap.
NH Photography Convention in Conway & blessed to be awarded ribbons for all five of my prints (see them on my web site). A few wedding and special events and my first senior photographed this year. A few photo courses taken. Now we are off on a Caribbean cruise with Paul & Lyn. Love the balcony cabin.
Fishing trips with Paul T & Paul D. then Paul T in hospital for back surgery…fishing is a very dangerous sport! Kathy on overnight in Boston for nursing conference. Both of us taking turns at PT. Me for the leg and Kathy for her neck and shoulder. I eventually end up with a total hip replacement and back to work after 6 weeks.
Spent July 4th with Melissa & Brian at Trinity Church and found a new raspberry pie recipe! A pig roast was the highlight of Bob B's birthday. A great week was spent with the family at a camp on Newark Pond, VT. We climbed Mt Pisga to the top, 2,600 ft…yes this was before the hip operation!!! This could be the camp that we go back to next year, but it's Melissa's turn to pick for 2012. Kathy and Melissa enjoyed Zumba on Jenness Beach in Rye. Memorable 40th anniversary party for Duponts at their camp, on Long Pond.
For our 40th anniversary, Melissa surprised us with a day of Zip Lining! What a rush!
Ten days after surgery I had a booth at Pats Peak bridal show. Kathy & I met 2010 Miss USA (see inset photo). Next week I go fishing with the Paul's. Kathy's allergy department moves from Manchester to Bedford. Two of the staff quit because they don't want to travel there.
We went to a couple of art shows and craft fairs. Spent Thanksgiving with the Smetana's in Brookline. Brian's father still lives with the pain of his rare nerve disease with no relief in sight. Attended the first light show at NH Speedway with Paul & Irene.
Christmas Party at Carol J's, one at NH Photo group, one with the retired Firefighters….the diet starts tomorrow!
This year marks the 10th year since Ben passed away……….
Say a little prayer that the brain trust in DC can get their act together soon…..or there won't be a next year!
We remember our friends and relatives that have passed away: Marie T (86, cancer), Arlene R (58, multi health issues), Kathy's Aunt Elaine (87, heart).
Love and Blessing to you all,
Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
I was at your park today, the one where you and Melissa enjoyed feeding the ducks and other birds. We had fun that day. Today was windy and cold, but reflecting on that day and week-end with you, made me warm. I can still see your smiles of delight as the day progressed. I miss you.

Hi Ben,
Here's our Christmas letter this year. We love and miss you.
Daggett Christmas Letter - 2010
I still work at Supreme Court. I interviewed for a promotion to area supervisor and got it. I now look after Plymouth, Conway, Berlin, Colebrook and Littleton Courts. Kathy is at Dartmouth Hitchcock. She got her hours increased by 2 so we could get their health insurance and drop the fire departments. That saved hundreds a month. Melissa doing great at her Spa business. She did a little face lift on her spa room. Brian got a job with a solar company and is very happy there.
Church dinner events, car racing, sportsman banquets. Deep sea fishing with Kathy catching the biggest 14# cod. Went to a few car shows. I burnt up 4 injectors in the Vette as a result of adding a gas additive to a tank of too little fuel….gas gauge off. Nothing a months pay couldn’t fix though. Went to see Avitar in 3D, great movie. Kathy & Melissa to see the Rockette’s in Boston.
Got a gas fireplace stove in the Living Room. Really warms the winter days up inside. Kathy planned a surprise 60th for me this year. M didn’t make it, but a great time overall. She also set up a get away weekend at the Common Man Inn….in the camp room. Very quaint. Both of us got a new doctor this year. Her name is Emily Jones and she looks about 13 in her hospital photo. I guess we are getting old!
Headed for Aruba for a week. We stayed with Paul & Lynn at Costa Linda Resort! If you nothing else before you die, put visit Aruba on your bucket list. We also did a lot of hiking and kayaking with them this year. Paul and I did a little 3 day fishing trip up in Pittsburg. Paul set Kathy and I up to try a lesson in Tai Chi. We liked it and my continue lessons.
I photographed a few brides, a 50 wedding anniversary, a 25th wedding anniversary (video), an 80th Birthday party (video), a photo shoot for a bodybuilder in training and went to a few photo classes with live models! Kathy’s niece got married at a Castle in Salem…..quite the event.
We dropped in at Paul and Irene camp for kayaking and burgers a few times. Very peaceful there. Even hunter (their dog) is more tranquil. They also came with us on a bus tour, boat ride, and dinner train ride of the annual flower show at the Mansions in Newport, RI. We all went to the hot air balloon festival in Pittsfield then back to the camp for burgers. Family vacation on Holland Pond in Vt near the Canadian Border. I think we may have found the best vacation spot so far. Lots of loons. Brian saw a group of 9. Did I mention eagles? Night time camp fires out side. Great sunrises. Lots of trails to hike and bike ride. We also had two camps to use for the price as one.
About August we decided to get a pet. We thought about a dog. Maybe a sheltie (my fav) or a mini dachshund (Kathy’s fav). We decided one morning in bed that we would already be up an out “watering” the dog so we switched to cats. We had Siamese before so we wanted that again. I will spare you all the events that took place but you should know that we wanted to adopt at first. No local shelter had one. We contacted Siamese Rescue on the web. After an hour getting grilled as to weather we would be “fit parents” they approved us. The first cat was a small kitten and they cautioned against that one because it was always under foot…..I guess they thought we were too old to handle it!!! They are truly over the top. We then found a great breeder in Nashua and picked up our kitten 11.21 at 10 weeks old. That’s her on the card at 8 weeks. We don’t have a name yet so send us your suggestions.
BBQ @ Marty & Maureen’s, Rick & Barbara’s, old friends from FL were there. BBQ @ the Supreme Court & Dartmouth, Dr Steve (Kathy’s boss) at his home…..OMG!!!! The Sargent family’s feed at Elm Brook Park for the 2nd year. The Daggett family lobster feed was earlier. Great weather for all events. Very hot this year.
A final farewell to Conrad B (54 cancer), Greg M (50 cancer), Bernie (CSO, 70’s stroke).
Check our blog @ www.DennisDaggett.com for photos to the above events. Dennis & Kathy

Hi Ben,
Here's the 2008 Christmas letter we are sending.
Daggett 2008 Christmas Letter
Another year already! It’s true, the older you get the faster they go by. Well here’s what we have been up to. If you see (B) after event, more info on it on my Blog at www.DennisDaggett.com
We did some traveling: An overnight stay at Church Landing in Feb sitting by the fireplace overlooking Lake Winnepeasuki. Our summer vacation with Donna, Leo, Melissa & Brian at a lakefront camp in Limerick ME. Great time, bad weather – same week a tornado went through Epsom (20 min from our home). We also visited FL & stayed at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort for 2 weeks with Melissa (that’s the picture on the card at Epcot). Brian had to stay home & nurse a torn bicep. Kathy & I then went to Boca Raton to see Tiny (87), my last living Daggett relative. Too much to catch up & too little time with her. Story of my life. Besides that I went to Washington DC and Chicago while Kathy visited the Newport Mansions.
The Manchester Artist Association picked my photos to hang in Suddenly Susan’s Resturant & Members 1st Credit Union as Artist of the Month. At the NHPPA Convention 5 out of 5 of my prints were awarded ribbons. (B) I guess I am getting the hang of this photography stuff. Check my Blog to see events I photographed.
We made several snow shoeing walks with the Paul & Lynn. Experienced Leigh English & Son art show. Each of them a unique talent. Saw a disappointing Boston Flower Show (B). I have taken up the piano. Melissa left the Elliott hospital’s spa after 5 years to open her own business in Silk Day Spa where she says “Every day is like a party”. Where do I sign up for that one!!! We had a lunch reunion with some MDA oldies. Now all of us are gray….even Ed Brouder. We saw the July 7th Redsox game at Fenway 4 rows behind home plate!!! Kathy had to explain the game to me. I saw the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit at the Portland Me art museum. We celebrated Donna & Greg’s 25th, Danielle & Lee’s wedding, Fred S (86) wedding (B). Mary T is married too. Smart girl….she eloped!!!
We had the family outing with lobsters & bonfire ‘till midnight at Donna & Leo’s (did I mention the bats!!!) On Thanksgiving we went to the Red Blazer Restaurant. Kathy won a turkey at work so we will still have leftovers. For Christmas we’ll draw a name then it’s dinner and movie here. We are trying to do our part to help the economy in spite of the Ford CEO’s refusal to forgo his $21,000,000 bonus!!! He just don’t get it.
I learned a Life Lesson: Learn to say no. I resigned from 2 board of directors (harder to do than to say no up front). Too many things not happening at home do to lack of time and energy. Since then I have been asked to join 2 other boards…I told them in a way I learned from my favorite son-in-law….”All set with that”. I do have a new position. I have been accepted as a Court Security Officer and will start training at the Police Academy Dec 1st. This is something that I have had in the back of my mind for years. This and photography will be my main focus for 2009. We are both in good health so far….but the day isn’t over yet. ?
In closing we fondly remember those that passed away: Gary B (56) retired FF & childhood friend, Bernie F (75) MDA friend. Have a great 2009, Dennis & Kathy
We love you,
Mom & Dad

Daggett 2007 Christmas Letter
Greetings All,
Our New Year’s eve was spent at home with Chinese food and a movie.
Events: Jessica D. baby shower, Alyssa W. wedding, photographed Joe L. & helicopter ride to girl friend in Plymouth MA, Rachael P. wedding, Heather P. wedding (I photographed and Kathy made the cake), Carol J. picnic, Maureen T’s 60th BD party, Irene D. art show (2 of them), Thanksgiving at Melissa & Brian’s, 4 Christmas parties..
Real estate is slow so I officially added a Photography business….check it out www.DennisDaggett.com , I also joined Manchester Artist Asso & NH Professional Photographers Asso. I photographed Shannon W., Michelle B. & Kellen S. weddings, I attended Ritz Photography classes & was a guest on www.PhotoTalkRadio.com, I was honored with the Chamber of Commerce Grant McIntosh Volunteer of The Year Award (they snuck Kathy and Melissa in for the surprise), Kathy attended many medical seminars.
Kathy and I went on a Caribbean cruise, Kennebunk ME (I snuck a picture of former President Bush), Loon Lake (complete with loons) in Plymouth NH w/the family, Las Vegas (1,300 pics – see them on the galleries at www.DennisDaggett.com ), Kittery Point ME (family outing) and to the Mt Washington Hotel (huge renovations going on),
I went alone to Washington DC, Naples FL, Chicago (very clean & lots of trees and flowers), Portland OR, & Church Landing in Meredith NH most of which was business.
We added a granite counter top and Franke sink to the kitchen. I put in a new Pella double full glass front door, had the yard landscaped and stone patio put in then had the drive way paved and sealed. The place finally looks decent. It only took 20 years!!!!
I was casually looking for a couple of years and in May I invested in a 1989 Corvette convertible (red/red) & entered a few car shows. Life is goooooooood!
Worse thing I did this year was to try Rolfing (a deep/painful massage) don’t waste your money!
In closing we fondly remember those that passed away: Cousin Dave R. (62 - cancer), Rikki S. (cancer), Steve R. (52 - firefighter), Joe L. (20 - Muscular Dystrophy).
We hope that your year was a good one and pray God bless you and your family in 2008.
Best Wishes,
Dennis & Kathy [email protected]

Hi Ben,
I was just musing and these words came to mind.
JUST AS THE EARTH’S PURPOSE IS TO HOLD
ALL THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE
SO TOO DO THE ETHERS HOLD THE ESSENSE
OF OUR LOVED ONES
BEN IS NOW A PART OF THE UNIVERSE, OF GODS
UNENDING SPLENDOR
WHEN YOU FEEL MELANCHOLY AND ARE OUTTHERE ALONE
AND YOU HEAR THE WHISPER OF THE WIND
IT IS HIM SAYING “I AM HERE, I AM SAFE I AM
IN GOD’S CARE, I AM FREE”
GOD IS REAL, DO YOU WONDER? THERE IS
TOO MUCH BALANCE IN THE WORLD
NOT TO BELIEVE GOD IS REAL
IN TIBET A HIMALAYAN DOG IS BORN WITH
ROUND FEET LIKE A SNOW SHOE
TO ADAPT TO SOME OF THE DEEPEST SNOWIEST COUNTRY
IN THE WORLD.THIS IS GOD’S BALANCE NOT AN
ACCIDENT
WHEN ORAL ROBERTS LOST HIS CHILDREN A
PARISHINER ASKED
DID YOU ASK GOD WHY HE LET THIS HAPPEN?
PASTOR ROBERTS SAID “YES I DID ASK AND THE ANSWER
I GOT WAS” GOD KNOWS SOMETHING
ABOUT THIS, THAT YOU DON’T KNOW, AND YOU KNOW GOD
YOU MUST NOW ANCHOR YOURSELF TO GOD
BECAUSE THAT IS WHO YOUR LOVED ONE IS WITH."

Daggett 2006 Christmas Letter
The year started off with Kathy spinning out into a snow bank off Rte 93 on her way to work in a snow storm. No injuries or damage to the car but it did have to be towed off a little snow bank. Dennis was busy with a lot of real estate functions including being a guest speaker on 3 WKXL radio shows, NHPOA group and several Realtor Boards as chair of the NH Realtor Association Communication Speaker Group, going first to San Diego for NNEREN (MLS) then both of us went to Oregon (nice country but too much rain), Dennis became Treasurer for both NNEREN & Concord Board of Realtors, both attended the NH Realtor Association convention at the Balsam’s (great views and food), Dennis was named Concord Board’s Realtor of the Year, Dennis installed as Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Chairman & voted in as President Elect of NNEREN MLS.
Dennis became more involved in photography. Both attended a 3 day photography conference at U Mass. Dennis professionally photographed 2 weddings and a class reunion. Kathy attended a asthma conference in Manchester and completed an Asthma Educator Course and will pursue a license as an Asthma Educator.
Aside from work, we both saw Peng Peng, a 14 year old pianist, preform at the Nashua Symphony, attended the Beatles tribute concert at UNH Whittemore Center, 2 car shows, a cook out at Ricks, both drove race cars at Sugar Hill Speedway (Dennis spun out in a corner), Samantha’s 15th birthday party Spanish style, Quince~vera. Carey wedding in Meredith, the Deerfield Fair (wayyyyyyy too crowded). We had our annual family picnic (almost forgot this year). Maddy graciously offered her new home on Lilly Pond for this event. She was away. Her pool boy, Pete, picked up after us! Many thanks Maddy & Pete.
Our favorite time was spent on vacation with Mel & Brian, Donna & Leo in log cabin in Waterford ME on Papoose Pond. Great time – lots of kayaking – biking – food – swimming – pictures and more pictures. We could go on and on about that but we won’t.
Our biggest purchase was when we broke down and spend my Corvette fund to have the yard professionally landscaped. For 2 weeks four guys and 3 huge rigs attacked the front, back & sides, putting in a new patio, shrubs, trees and bark mulch all around the place. Now that it is done, it was worth. Hurry up Spring!!!
Thanksgiving was here and Christmas will be at Donna & Leo’s home in Weare this year.
Special thoughts & prayers for cousin Dave R who is battling cancer (62). We appreciate the conversations about death and dying that you have openly shared with us. The strength of you and your family at this time is an inspiration to those that are fortunate to know you. We also fondly remember out friends whom have passed: Carol J’s mother (72), Gail M, Aunt Nina (91), Paul T’s mom (80), Mary F (62 - cancer), Princess Taylor G (6 - cancer).
We have been truly blessed this year. I guess that is a testimony to the power of prayer. We hope that your year was a good one & pray God sends his blessings to you and your family in 2007.
God bless,
Dennis & Kathy

Hi again Ben,
You have been on my mind strong today, so I thought I better send you a note. I have been taking care of patients lately and I thought about how brave and positive you always were, regardless of what you had to go through. You took such delight and joy in life and nature. I am sure a bright light surrounds you and your smile. We all miss you
but I know we will meet again. It is His promise. That makes me smile.

The following was written by Melissa & Brian Smetana for their wedding program
Here in Spirit
We give thanks for the relationships which support us as a
couple and as individuals. To our parents whose
unconditional love and guidance throughout our lives
made us who we are and brought us here today.
Like tributaries merging into a river, streams winding their
way down a mountain, and underground springs which
cleanse and renew the waters, so it is with the loving
relationships each of us had known. Blended imperceptibly through ripples and rapids, you’ve joined our lives.
We remember especially Ben, whose physical presence
is deeply missed, but whose ripples still stir the waters. Ben
us with us in spirit, because we make him present again,
every time we love one another well, fulfilling his hopes
and legacy for our lives. There is but one Source of life and
we are all carriers of its flow. Thanks be to God, for the
life and love which flowed to you from Ben.
Amen.

Hi Ben,
Today your sister, Melissa, is getting married. She has a spot at the head table set for you. I thought that was nice. She planned the whole thing as well as buying a home and planning the honeymoon cruise. We are very proud of her as I am sure you are. Brian is a very lucky young man.
It's been raining for about two days but today is as clear as a bell and sunny. God does answer prayers doesn't he? I am surprising her with a Rolls Royce limo to drive her around. Everyone tells us how incredibly beautiful she looks and we can't wait to see her in the wedding dress.
Well it's time for me to get into my tux and give away the bride. We love you and miss you.
All our love,
Dad, Mom & Melissa

Hi Ben!
You were on my mind today as you
so often are. But today I wanted to
write it down. I was at the park today, where you sooo enjoyed feeding the ducks and watching the alligators. That prompted me to go to the Seminole Park too where so many of the gulls came flying over our heads when you and Melissa threw bread crumbs, you were so happy, your wonderful smile is still etched in my mind and makes me smile on reflecting. Thank you for putting many happy moments into my life.
Love,
Joyce Haddix

Daggett Christmas Letter - 2002
After talking with several of you over the past several months we decided to include another Christmas letter. This year has been a good one for us. Lots to be thankful for, especially your prayers & support. Each bold word starts a new event.
You may remember Kathy¡¦s mother was doing poorly. She had a 7th stroke and passed away on December 31, 2001 at 3PM. Coincidentally, Ben passed away on December 1st at 3AM. Although it was not easy to let go, it was a great relief to not see her suffering anymore.
January ¡V Funeral arrangements and wake for Kathy¡¦s mother, Muriel Sargent, were taken care of. The Concord Monitor had a great front-page article about Ben. We traded in the 92 Crown Vic and the 95 Saturn for a 97 Volvo 960 for Kathy. Imagine married for 31 years and I never knew she always loved Volvos! We spent a week in Largo, FL with Joyce, a week in Orlando thanks to Bill & Betty and a week in Marco Island, FL with Ben¡¦s Godparents. This was a much needed and much appreciated respite. Melissa starts her classes at Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics.
February ¡V Dennis looked for work. On the 22nd (that¡¦s 2/22/2002 !!) he dusted off his real estate license and started working for Larrabee Real Estate in Epsom. Dennis helped Roger open the season at his maple-sugaring house.
March - Kathy starts yoga classes. Enjoyed dinner at several friends homes. Even experienced ¡§vegan¡¨ dining somewhat! Thanks Sue.
April ¡V Dennis & Kathy went to see work out partner, Richard, race at New Hampshire International Speedway. Dennis is sworn into the Concord Board of Realtors. We tried to sell Ben¡¦s handicap equipped 1999 Ford van. No one was even coming close to the money we owed! Have to do something because it¡¦s not suited well for the real estate business.
May ¡V Remodeled the bath: tile floor, new wall covering & paint, new cabinets and Corian counter top. You are always welcome to come and check it out. Kathy made graduation cakes for a few of Melissa friends. Went to nephew, Richard¡¦s, college graduation party in Fitchburg, MA. UNH graduation ceremonies for Melissa in Manchester.
June ¡V Bow High School graduation exercises. We are presented with Ben¡¦s diploma and receive a standing ovation. Bridal shower for Tracy and dinner and a movie with Sylvie and Al. Kathy & friend, Ada, see ¡§Riverdance¡¨ in MA. Kathy takes Intro to Psychology at Concord Tech and gets an ¡§A¡¨.
Graduation parties for Eric and Erin. Kathy works at New Hampshire International Speedway for the first (and last) time. I guess she¡¦s not a fast woman ƒº. Had to bite the bullet and pay off the van and traded it in for another Volvo. Sorry, Ben, the Corvette will have to wait ¡¥till next year!!!
July ¡V Dennis talked with Primerica business partner, Rick, about construction business opportunity. He teamed up with Ernie and hired out to landlords to fix apartment problems. All this in addition to real estate and maintaining the Primerica securities client base. Evening dinner cruise at Portsmouth harbor. Larrabee Real Estate merges with Prudential Verani Real Estate to form Prudential Verani-Larrabee Realty. Kathy decided to go back and finish her nursing studies after a 30 year break. She took the pre NLN test for nursing and passed. Dennis bought a little Chevy S-10 for the construction business. Spent a lazy day at Tony¡¦s lake side house barbecue. ¡§I gotta¡¦ get me one of those.¡¨ Craig sees his 21st birthday party. Kathy helps Ben¡¦s friend and classmate, Peter, present money to Make A Wish, he raised as a school project in Ben¡¦s memory. Annual family picnic.
August ¡V Dinner with Shirley & Duane. Dennis to Melissa¡¦s school for a facial. ¡§Yes, I eat quiche too.¡¨ Kathy is accepted for studies at the Tech. Kathy gets CPR certified. Kathy starts part time work at the Kandy Kettle candy store. Alice¡¦s 50 BD party at Scituate ocean front home. Dana weds Carolyn in York Beach, ME. Scott & Kathryn¡¦s wedding. Two picnics, a cook out at Pete and Joey¡¦s, a Nashua Pride baseball game and fireworks all in one day. Whew!!!! Did I mention our 31st anniversary?
September ¡V Helped out at the MDA Telethon. Dennis built a couple of decks including an enclosed screen room addition at a New Found Lake property. The Deerfield Fair happens. Kathy starts her classes ¡K& studies & studies.
October ¡V Deanna & Nathan get hitched at the Highlander. Kathy made 4 cakes for two 50th, one 60th and one 80th birthdays in the same family. Go Theresa! Comedy Night at the Concord Auditorium. Melissa ends classes on the 31st and starts her job search as a licensed medical esthetician. ¡Kand Kathy studies & studies.
November ¡V Melissa is offered and accepts a position at a local spa in MA. MDA Black & Blue Ball. Great food and fun evening! Oldies concert at UNH Whittemore Center. ¡Kand Kathy studies & studies. Thanksgiving out to quaint Hopkinton restaurant with Melissa, Brian, Donna & Leo. Afterward to the movies to see 007 in ¡§Die Another Day¡¨ and back to our place for dessert. ¡K.and Kathy studies and studies.
December ¡V ¡Kand Kathy passes and gets all ¡§A¡¦s¡¨. Ben and Muriel gone a year already. Retired fire-fighters Christmas party, Engine 4 Christmas party, real estate Christmas parties, church Christmas dinner, Primerica Christmas party, MDA Christmas party, Challenger Sports Christmas party. Brenna¡¦s birthday party. Kathy & friends to Lee¡¦s tea. Traditional father ¡V daughter Christmas shopping day. Melissa to pick the shopping mall this year.

Dear Dennis and Kathleen,
I will always have fond memories of Ben, the movie theater and that great big greyhound as Ben reluctantly got ready for school each morning. Our debates over the correct way to spell Neal(Neil is my son's name.)and Ben's wry sense of humor will be remembered along with the shoe invention that we discussed entering in Dean Kamen's contests. The knowledge that he is about The Father's work, free of his earthly confines hopefully brings you a measure of comfort. Thank you for sharing Ben!
Sincerely, Diena Rae
