QUEENSBURY -- Benjamin E. Ellis, 75, of Queensbury, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at Westmount Health Facility.

Born on Dec. 30, 1930, in Benson, Vt., he was the son of George P. and Kate (St. John) Ellis.

Benjamin served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 6196, Queensbury, where he enjoyed and worked Bingo for several years.

He was an avid Mets and wrestling fan.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Leo Ellis, George Ellis, Raymond Ellis and Ralph Ellis; and his sister, Martha Bowen.

Survivors include his wife, Eva (Fowler) Ellis; his daughter, Sherry Ellis of Ft. Pierce, Fla; his sons, Lawrence B. Ellis and his wife, Debbie, of Hudson Falls, Mathew J. Ellis and his wife, Darlene, of North Adams, Mass., and Andrew S. Ellis and his wife, Linda, of Glens Falls; his grandchildren: Melissa Mottram-Ellis, Nicholas Ellis, Neil Ellis, Brandon Ellis, Amanda Ellis, Ashleigh Ellis, Nathan Ellis and Natalie Ellis; his brothers, Earl Ellis and William Ellis, both of Fairhaven, Vt.; his sister, Betty Delphia of Castleton, Vt.; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.

Burial will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a future date.

There will be no calling hours.

Those who wish may send a remembrance in his name to the American Cancer Society, 959 Route 9, Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804 or to the American Diabetes Association, Capital District Chapter 7, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.
