Ben Platt. I heard my husband, Chan Stubbs, say that name so many times when he was recounting memories from his high school years. Maybe they are playing ball together now.

We had the pleasure of getting too know Ben and Jackie when our son married their daughter Kris. We've had many memorable times together which we will always cherish. Ben and Jackie will always have a special place in our hearts and our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family.

Ben was our across the street neighbor and friend on View Avenue. My strongest memory is from about 1968 when "Benny" and I developed a hot dog cooker out of wood, nails, and a power cord that plugged into the wall. A bit dangerous, for sure, but he insisted we put a cover on the top to keep from electric shock. Once that was accomplished it was a much safer unit.
My condolences to all of you. Continue to build on the great things your father represented.

We have known Ben and Jackie for many years since Karl went to school with them and played ball with Ben. We have become closer friends in the last 10 years We miss Jackie and will miss Ben very much.
Ben was a true friend and had a great personality. You'd ask him "How are you today?" He'd always reply "Nearly magnificent!"
We loved them both!

I knew and met Ben in 1943, when I moved from Ryderwood to Chehalis. I played football, basketball & baseball with him. He was the best left hand batter that I ever or have ever seen. He was a long time and true friend. I will miss him a great deal.

Ben was like a father to all of us girls who worked for him at Bank Check, guiding and teaching us as we grew up literally. He taught me everything I know about business and sales. He was another "dad" to me and I will miss him dearly.
