Dear Ellen, Allan, Gerry, Heidi & Suzanne,
It's been years since we were all neighbours on Fairside Avenue, but I have fond memories of all of you. Ben was my doctor for some years and he was always kind and patient with me, even though at the time I had a terrible fear of injections. Please accept my sincere condolences and may your families be spared further sorrow.

To the whole Tissenbaum family,
I feel I have lost someone who was once a very close friend and I am truly sad. My favorite thing about Ben was his consummate honesty and directness. As a friend, I knew I could always count on him and that he would be there for me. I remember fondly our times together at the Y, many years ago, and our badminton matches. As my doctor, he was excellent—knowledgeable, forthright and compassionate. I missed his wonderful care after his retirement. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the entire family. In tribute to Ben and the way I remember him, I will try to retain optimism about life and live as fully as I am able. I hope you find comfort in fond memories and in the many legacies he leaves behind.
