Benjamin Brooks Williams III, 83, of Old Church, Va., passed away Saturday, November 27, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ann Byrne Williams. He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Benjamin B. Williams IV and Marian, Dennis D. Williams and Annie, Christopher C. Williams and Kim, Mary Anne W. Lange, Theresa W. Harvey and Kevin, Jayne W. Martin and Kyle, Kevin K. Williams and Kathie; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and his aunt, Janice Gray Williams. Mr. Williams was a decorated World War II Army veteran who fought at the Battle of the Bulge and the Bridge at Remagen, a member of VFW Post 9801 and also a retired employee of 43 years of the C&O Railroad. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. Christian Wake at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Church of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. Interment to follow at Gethsemane Church of Christ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., P.O. Box 6359, Glen Allen, Va. 23058 or the Church of the Redeemer Catholic Church.
