BENNIE H. WENSKE

SHINER: Bennie H. Wenske, 85, passed away on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011.
Bennie was born on Jan.14, 1926 in Shiner to the late Adolph and Annie Pavelka Wenske.
He married Peggy Moody on Feb. 24, 1962 in Seguin.
He was a member of Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Shiner and the American Legion of Shiner.
Bennie served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in Guam, and received the Good Conduct Medal, Gunnery Training Medal, Victory Ribbon and an Overseas Ribbon. He received an honorable discharge in 1946.
Most will remember Bennie from his love of country music and playing his guitar with "The Sundowners" and his casino trips he shared with Peggy. He always had a joke to share with anyone who came his way.
Survivors include; two daughters, Phyllis (Kelvin) Leonard of Shiner and Karen (James) Molnoskey, Sr., of San Marcos; four grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Burns of Manor, Jamie (David) Kalisek of Flatonia, Vicki Molnoskey of San Marcos and James (Lauren) Molnoskey, Jr., of Augusta, GA.; one brother, Larry (Margie) Wenske of Shiner; nine great-grandchildren, Mason, Joshua, Emily, Katie, Harley, Nickolas, Ali, Lucy and Madison.
He was preceded in death by his wife; grandson, Jeffery Petru and brother, Alton James Wenske.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. Interment will follow in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
