Both he and his brother Arthur cared for our family in the late 1950's in Philadelphia. Their examples of humanity led me to a career in medicine for which I am eternally grateful.

My deepest condolences to the family of Benson Krieger on his passing. From the age of six he cared for me, along with my parents, in Germantown. There could not have been a kinder, more compassionate physician. He inspired me to go into nursing, and I retired this past year after 24 years as a NICU RN at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I know he touched the lives of many people over the years.

I am so very sad to hear of Benson's passing. He played an important role in my childhood and teen years. He was most compassionate and helped me get through my problems and allay my fears. He was the one person who was able to comfort me and the only one I was able to talk to openly. I will remember him with great fondness.

Dr Krieger was a wonderful man who cared for all of my childhood illnesses and injuries. I could safely walk from my home on Zeralda Street to his office, one block over at Wayne and Apsley Streets. As kids, we were never afraid to go the go to the doctor as he and his staff were kind and understanding that we were poor and couldn't always pay on time.
I loved to stop by the back yard of his office and visit his pet monkey on my way home from school on warm spring days.
One Sunday morning in the early 1950's, I awakened to the phone ringing as Dr Krieger announced the birth my new baby sister. He was there for all of us. God bless the Krieger family. I will remember Dr B. with fondness always.
