My thoughts and prayers go out to you Lloyd, Mark, Michael, Larry, Maureen, Patsy and Julie on this, the anniversary of dearest Detta's departure from one realm to another. Although she will be forever missed by everyone in every way, her spirit shines brightly and remains in our hearts. May you find comfort in that, as I know I shall. God bless...

Lloyd, when you and I met via the internet years ago and you told me about how you two met, you lit up. I was delighted that you found someone who made you so happy. I have no doubt that you made her equally happy. Cherish those memories and surround yourself with family.

To Lloyd, Mark, Michael also Maureen, Patsy, Julie and Larry. SO SADDENED TO HEAR OF DETTA, my love to you all. She will never be forgotten over here in Ireland. Its a shame we didn't get to see more of her over the years. I'll never forget the evening of My granny and grandads 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. My Grandads face lit up with love and joy of seeing his niece detta and gran-nephew Mark he hadn't seen in a long time come all the way over from Canada. It was a great night and I got to know her in this short time. I was speaking to her at Christmas and Detta remembers me singing her an Irish song by The Wolfe Tones, when she was over. It was great to hear she remembered so vividly and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you all know she was loved and cherished over here. All our love and sympathy from cousins Margaret Hunt Margaret Foley and Frank, Francis, Lee and Callum Hunt.

Dear Mrs. Cross, Rhonda, Kim, Brad and Families.
Although it has been many years since I saw Detta I have many fond memories of her when I/we were spending time at the Cross house (on Lavina?) in High School- Detta was often there and was always so friendly and kind to we "hoodlums" hanging out in the basement or sitting in the dining room playing cards- I remember her as a beautiful lady with a great smile and sparkling eyes. I was very saddened to see that she had passed away - far to soon...
My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the days ahead.

Dear Lloyd, Mark, Michael,
My heart goes out to you and to all of the amazing O'Farrell family that I have been so privileged to know. We have lost a beautiful and gentle soul much too soon - heaven has gained a devoted angel to watch over you. May her continuing presence bring you comfort and peace.

Beautiful, beautiful Detta.....my lifelong 'best' friend, 'adopted sister', twin soul. I am honoured and grateful to have had such a friend as you on life's complex journey, a journey rendered so much more enriched by your presence - the bottomless oasis of your understanding, and the healing balm of your so generous gentle gentle spirit which radiated though your words and smile and eyes. Amongst the other roles you played with such
consummate devotion and alacrity ....mother, wife, sister... you embodied that of friend such as I shall never again know, for there was/is only one of you. Your many gifts - a mercurial intelligence, quick easy grasp and analysis of any situation, wise outlook on all that mattered, refined sense of artistry which could certainly have found expression in any number of avenues from writing to designing.....but which you chose to render unselfishly in the service of those you loved. For you knew what mattered and you never wavered....family and friendship.
And so dear, dearest, beautiful Detta, although you have departed, you have left a FOOTPRINT which will never be erased or forgotten, which can never be duplicated, and which resonates with your spirit and the huge reservoir of memories you leave as a legacy...the demure girl of the 'blue dress', the elegant woman throughout all.....I love you Detta.....

The world lost an angel yesterday and heaven gained big time! She touched my soul often and was always a beautiful flower in my heart's garden. I will miss her beautiful, smile, her kindness, her daring and generous soul, and her laughter and smile that could light up a room. She was much loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her and and I can't help but be reminded of how lucky anyone was that shared in her life's journey. She was a perfect and cherished cousin and a dear friend whose glourious spirit will always endure and shine through those she has so sorrowfully left behind. Bye sweet cousin ... be at peace ... and know you will forever remain cherished in my heart. I love you "Sister Bernadette."
