Stephen A. Casper COLUMBIA - Stephen A. Casper, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in Columbia, SC. Mr. Casper was born in Caro, MI, and lived most of his life in South Bend, IN. He worked at Studebaker and retired from Stewart Warner. He served in the U.S. Air Transport Command during WWII. He loved his family and loved to play golf. Mr. Casper is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Violet, and daughters, Susan Boocher (Wallace) of South Bend, IN, and Yvette Hering (Richard) of Columbia, SC, four grandsons, Richard Hering (Jessica) of Fort Myers, FL, Stephen Borg (Tina) of Dallas, TX, Ehren Borg of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas Hering of Columbia, SC, and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Casper was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Aldersgate Special Needs Ministry, through Grace UMC, 410 Harbison Blvd., Columbia, SC, 29212.
