Bernard Schmitt Obituary

Bernard was born on October 27, 1918 and passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Bernard was a resident of Charles City, Iowa at the time of his passing. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Roseville. He continued to help on the family farm until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. Bernard proudly served his country in Europe during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was married to Lillian. A funeral Mass for Bernard Schmitt will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday March 9 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Roseville with Monsignor Walter Brunkan celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Roseville. Visitation will be held at Hauser Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday March 8 2016 with a Scripture Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the funeral Mass at the church on Wednesday.
