Fond memories of "Bernie" when I was an apprentice out at Salthouse Brothers in Greenhithe during the mid-1970's. Always positive, supportive, good for a laugh and all-round good bloke! RIP kind sir!

Go well Bernie. I remember some wonderful sailing holidays and your kindness and help when John had his heart operation during the America's Cup 2000. Always a smile and a whistle.

Very sad to hear of Bernie,s passing.
In my early days Bernie was a part of our family, if it wasn't sailing it was building the boats. Later on in my life i remember helping Bernie build 18 footers and other craft and sailing with him.
Always a laugh and a smile
