Bernard WESSEL Obituary

Bernard A. Wessel
March 1, 1931-February 2, 2018

Bernard "WES" Wessel, 86, died February, 2, 2018. Wes was born on a farm in Kansas, one of 13 children. A brother and sister, Paul and Rosie, survive him. He served in the Air Force 4 years and once discharged in 1954 pursued a career as an expert auto mechanic. He, like many of his brothers, never met a car he couldn't fix and was always a Cadillac man.

He married Marjorie in October 1958 and they promptly had four daughters in addition to Marjorie's son and daughter from a previous marriage. After two cross country moves, first to California then South Carolina, the family eventually settled in beautiful Colorado and never left.

After retiring, Wes and Marge enjoyed cruising to exotic locales and traveling all around the great USA. Many days were spent watching old westerns, reading, listening to music and just spending time with the family, especially at Sunday dinners.

Survivors also include his wife of nearly 60 years, Marge, and daughters Sherry, Tamara, Deborah, Pamela and Theresa, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

STILL MISSING YOU

They say there is a reason
They say that time will heal
But neither time nor reason
Will change the way we feel

For no one knows the heartache
That lies behind our smiles,
No one knows how many times
We have broken down and cried

We want to tell you something
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of
But so hard to be without

We cannot bring the old days back,
When we were all together
The family chain is broken now,
But memories live forever.
