Bernard L. "J.R." Westfall, 63, of Tyler, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 in Tyler. J.R., the owner of Tri Way II Motors, was born on July 15, 1951 in Gallipolis, Ohio. He graduated from Beaumont High School. Following school he worked for several auto dealerships before opening Lake Front Auto in Jasper in 1981. He moved to Tyler in 1990. He did some night guard work for Azleway before his health necessitated his retirement. He loved people and loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Larry, sister, Bonnie Krippene and sister, Margaret Vanover. He is survived by his fiancee', Margaret Musgrave of Tyler; brothers, Fred Westfall of Houston, David Westfall of Tyler, and Dale Westfall of Honolulu, Hawaii; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, also at the funeral home with Reverend Sue Patillo officiating.

Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.

Being a salesperson with CARFAX I talk to several people every day and there are only a few who really stand out and are truly memorable, JR was one of those people. I enjoyed every conversation we had and looked forward to the next call with him. He made me feel like a true friend not just his salesperson. JR you will be truly missed my heartfelt condolences to Maggie and the entire family

JR you will be missed. We have lost so many cousins lately. I remember both JR and Dale ( T ) when they were little boys in Gallipolis, Ohio. They were always getting into mischief!!! I remember JR loved people and he loved to talk! All of you will be in my prayers. Sheila Southard Saunders

I had the pleasure of working with both J.R. and Maggie when they joined CARFAX. We would talk several times a month and every time they called, they always put a smile on my face. J.R. would always tell me about his life experiences and his way with words always made me laugh and helped me get through my work day. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
