To Cheryl and family I'm so sorry to heard about the lost of Bernard I grew up with Bernard in North Camden went to Pyne Poynt Junior High and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School with him and his sister Vanessa Although life took us through different paths we were all reunited when I started working with his sister Mary and became part of the family of Breaking Walls International Church under his daughter CoPastor Chanta Kiner's leadership I can still see him canoeing on the Cooper River so calm and peaceful without a care in the world and that great big smile on his face I pray and ask in Jesus's precious name for comfort guidance and peace for you and your family throughout this difficult journey God Bless you all Lucille Wilkins

I was stunned to receive news that Bernie had passed away. I only knew him from his few summer trips to Cheryl's summer cottage at Harvey's Lake. He was a gentle giant, very kind and soft spoken. From the first time I met him, I felt as if I knew him for years. Anyone who could call him "friend" is blessed to have known this good man. Bernie will surely be missed. I am so sorry for your loss Cheryl but am certain you and Bernie will be reunited in Heaven some day.

It is heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a very special man. Bernard was the epitome of consistency, he never changed, he was always there for us with kind words, a loving hug, a big smile, and so many other things I will always remember and be thankful for. Through his own actions he taught us how to be kind, loving , and patient and I will live the rest of my life trying to emulate those wonderful characteristics as a father, husband, and friend. Thank you Bernard, we are all gonna miss you!!

There are no words or actions that anyone can do to take away the pain of loss and the emptiness, but there are prayers and we are praying for you. We know your hope is in the Lord and you will see Bernie again rest in that.
