Pareles, Bernice
Of Lasell Village in Auburndale, April 3. A life devoted to helping others, reading and learning. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Mathew J. Pareles, mother of Dr. Lawrence Pareles, Jonathan Pareles, Richard Pareles and Julie Pareles, and proud grandmother of four. She married and settled in Trumbull, CT, where she was President of the PTA Council for Better Schools, served on the building committee for a new high school and resumed her career in social work. After her husband's death she moved to Newton, MA and was a social worker and community organizer for the Mass. Dept. of Mental Health and the International Institute of Boston. A memorial service will be held May 11 at 2 p.m. at Lasell Village. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Doctors Without Borders and Planned Parenthood.

I have very fond memories growing up with my first cousin Bernice and visited her often during my business trips to Massachusetts staying at her home. She will be sorely missed.

I am saddened by this news. I have fond memories during my childhood of being a guest at her house on Canoe Brook Lake in Trumbull CT.
