Bernice M. Ulrich
1921-2016
BERNICE M. ULRICH of Houston, TX died Sunday, December 4, 2016. Bernice was born August 13, 1921. She served in World War II in the Army Nurse Corps as a 1st Lieutenant in the 106th Evacuation Hospital and was awarded European Theater Ribbon with 4 Battle Stars, the WWII Victory Medal and the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque. Bernice was also a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Houston, TX and was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Post #5 in Rahway, NJ, a Charter Member of Women in Military Service for America and WWII Memorial Charter Member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Ulrich, Sr.
Survivors include her son, Walter E. Ulrich, Jr. (Beth); daughter Marilyn Metting (Gerald); Granddaughters, Stacey Lynn, Brett Glass (William), Blythe Smith-McDonald (Michael); Great-grandson Henry McDonald and Great-granddaughter Genevieve Glass all of Houston.
Private Services will be held in New Jersey.

I wasn't lucky enough to have know this lady but I salute her for being there when our WWII soldiers needed her! Hand Salute Ms. As we old, and young, Marines say, Semper Fi RIP!
