Mary Ulrich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home - Nekoosa on Mar. 26, 2026.
Mary Ann Ulrich, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday, March 30, 2026, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Port Edwards, WI. Father John Swing will officiate the Mass. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until the time of service. Burial will be held at Port Edwards Cemetery.

Mary was born on December 2, 1935, in Nekoosa, WI to the late George and Mary (Schenk) Arendt. She married the love of her life, August "Augie" Ulrich, on September 11, 1965, in Nekoosa, WI. Mary worked from 1955 to 1965 as a First Aid for NEPCO.

Mary was a devoted member of her community and a faithful parishioner of St. Alexander Catholic Church, where her presence brought comfort and familiarity to many. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Ladies, embracing friendship, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness that the group represents.

In her free time, Mary found happiness in life's little pleasures. She loved miniature golf, riding her bike, and dancing to old-time music, often filling the room with her joyful energy. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing, especially when surrounded by friends and family. Mary cherished spending time with others-whether it was dining out, sharing stories, or simply enjoying good company.

A talented homemaker, Mary expressed her creativity through baking, knitting, and embroidery. Her handmade creations and delicious treats were gifts she lovingly shared with those around her, leaving lasting memories in every stitch and every bite.

Mary is survived by her niece, Mary Jorden; nephews, Patrick Arendt, Michael Arendt, Timothy Arendt; and dear friends, Stephanie Vela and Karrie Oertli.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, August "Augie" Ulrich; sister, Agatha Flick; brothers, George Arendt and Carl Arendt; and nephew, Tom Arendt.

A sincere and grateful thank you to the staff at Arborview and St. Croix Hospice for the love and care they showed Mary over the years. A special thank you to Stephanie and Karrie for being by Mary's side and taking care of her for many years.
