Bertha Miranda, our loving mother, was born in Douglas, Arizona on December 14,1929. Her given birth name was Maria Berta Tyechea and was born to Felizardo Tyechea from Sonora, Mexico and Maria Eloisa Carbajal born in Bacadeuachi, Mexico.
At a young age, she went to live with her aunt and uncle Maria and Ignacio Carbajal in Douglas, Arizona, along with their nine (9) children, Oralia, Irene, Beatrice, Danny, David, Frank, Eva, Kito and Eddie. At the age of 14, she went to live with her father in San Diego, Ca.
She later came to Los Angeles to work at Clifton Cafeteria and met Margarito Miranda and married on January 19,1948. They had six (6) children, Margie, Sylvia, Christina, Alicia, Julian and Susie. She later went to work in a factory in downtown Los Angeles on Wall Street and was hired by her cousin Oralia Flores where they assembled parts for planes and water heaters. Her dear sisters, Grace and Yolie would come and baby sit her small children while she worked.
Bertha enjoyed going to Las Vegas and the local casinos. She would get excited when she heard Pit Bull performing on TV. When you called her on Tuesday, she would get excited to tell you it was Taco Tuesday and what she ate. She had her regular weekly TV programs she enjoyed watching and knew exactly what time they came on. Some of her favorites included Joel Osteen, Judge Judy, Family Feud, Two and Half Men, 60 Minutes, 20/20, 48 Hours, Life Time and her Novelas. She lived by Joyce Meyers famous saying "I FEEL GREAT".
Bertha is survived by 4 of her children, Margie (Joe), Christine, Alice, Susie, and 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and extended family.
She is also survived by her siblings, Grace, Yolanda, Archie, Martha, Anita, and Rosita from her mother Louisa and step-father Jesus Honne and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Margarito Miranda, her daughter Sylvia, and her son Julian.
It has been heartwarming to hear from so many that they lovingly remember our mother as a lovely, kind-hearted person who aways had a sweet disposition and was always willing to help in any way she could. May all the beautiful memories of her live on in our hearts.

My deepest condolences to all family. Bertha perhaps never thought how important her children would become as they matured and blended with other families. Bertha left her stamp of kindness and sweetness on her children. Those us of us who are part of the blended family thank Bertha especially for Margie’s love and concern for all family. Thank you Bertha for your friendship with my mother Teresa DeLaRosayou were among her best friends. Again, thank you for leaving us with memories full of sweetness and happiness. God’s blessings on your journey, sweet Bertha.
