Bethany Stevens

Bethany Stevens, 67, of Rohnert Park, CA, passed away peacefully after a sudden and brief illness, on Wednesday, October, 28, 2009, surrounded by the love of her two daughters, at Petaluma Valley Hospital. Bethany was born February 25, 1942 in Salem, MA to William and Barbara Brown. She attended grade school in Camden, Maine and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, ME in 1960 and from LaSalle Junior College in MA in 1962 with a degree in childhood education. As a stewardess for Pan American Airlines, Bethany traveled around the world and was stationed on the West Coast where she met and married Ted Stevens. They moved to New Hampshire, where they raised their daughters Amy and Holly. The family moved back to the West Coast in 1993. Beth held various interesting jobs before happily settling in to her current teaching position at Learning to Learn in Petaluma, CA, where she's worked and played since 1996. She was enjoying another fun-filled day at school with her colleagues and students when she collapsed suddenly of a massive stroke. Bethany is loved by many friends, co-workers, students and their families. She is survived by her two daughters: Amy Frydenlund, husband Jeff, and their daughters Nicole and Rylie of Folsom, CA; Holly Haavik and her children Heather and Chance of Rohnert Park, CA; husband Ted Stevens of Copalis Beach, WA; brother Pete Brown and his wife Joy of Camden, ME; sister Sue Ayer of Topsham, ME; sister Kathie Brown of Lincolnville, ME, and nine nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service to celebrate her beautiful and full life will be held on Sunday, November 1st at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1310 Clegg Street, Petaluma, CA.
