Betty Cline Devon, 87, of Greenville, SC passed away January 10, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lucius M. Cline of Greenville, SC and was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles G. Devon.

Mrs. Devon graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1943, and went on to study laboratory technology at the Medical College of Charleston. She worked as a laboratory technologist and supervisor for 18 years and was named the Georgia Medical Technologist of Year in 1962. For 7 years she organized and led training seminars for lab personnel in the southeast. In 1978 she started NOVED, Inc. offering medical technology seminars and conferences in the Atlanta area.

She is survived by her children Peggy Devon Rowe (Danny) of Dacula, GA, and Mark Wayne Devon (Jo) of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Devon Hamstra (Chris) of Grand Rapids, MI, Tim Lasseter (Laura) of Hartwell, GA, Andrea, Christina, and Alex Devon of Greenville, SC. She leaves four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Micah, and Noah Hamstra of Grand Rapids, MI, and Annie Lasseter of Hartwell, GA as well as several nieces and nephews in the Greenville area.

She was preceded in death by her brother Dr. Lucius Moore Cline, Jr. and sister Janie Cline Poe.

A reception to honor and celebrate her life will be held in Greenville, SC, January 22, 2011 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Lucius Cline, 471 E. Parkins Mill Rd, Greenville, SC 29615.

Peggy,Devon,and Tim....I have special memories of Betty and Charlie and sharing time with all of you those years in the 90's when life seemed upside down at times! I so enjoyed being included in your family activities and all the holiday meals together. God Bless your family! I will hold dear those memories my whole life. Love always...
