Betty Hubbard Finn, 92, of Staunton (formerly of Barren Springs), passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born December 7, 1931 in Winding Gulf, West Virginia, daughter of the late Albert and Bertha Jenkins Hubbard. She was a 1948 graduate of Draper High School and a 1953 graduate of West Virginia Business College. After a 30-year career at the University of Virginia, she retired in 1991.

Betty was best known for her wry wit and her love of wildlife (especially the many birds, chipmunks, and a favorite fox that frequented her yard). She also loved watching sports, particularly her beloved Virginia Cavaliers.

Betty is survived by her grandson, Edward Zdancewicz of Nanticoke, PA; sister Peggy Hubbard Brown and brother-in-law Horace Brown of Hillsville; many beloved nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver Jerry Brown of Staunton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Bishop Zdancewicz, husband Hubert "Huck" L. Finn, six brothers (Ted, Albert "Jr.", Bill, Jack, Kenneth, and Gentry "Gene"), and one sister (Virginia).

A memorial service will be held November 2 at 11 am at Glenwood Methodist Church, 3553 Foster Falls Road, in Barren Springs, VA, the Reverend Lee Wiggins officiating.

The family wishes to express appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Augusta Health. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Betty H. Finn to The Wildlife Center of Virginia, 1800 S. Delphine Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
