Betty FOOTE

Died peacefully at Fairview Mennonite Home on Friday, August 5, 2022, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Howard (2011) married 60 years. Loving mother of Fr. William Foote (Dr. Margaret Foote) and Janet Foote; grandmother of Catherine (Shawn), Mary and Caitlin, great-grandmother of Ruby and Jasper. Sister of William McFadyen (Janet). A longtime resident of Preston, Betty and Howard were the proud owners of Howard Foote Jewellers. Betty gave generously of her time and volunteered at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She made friends easily and treated everyone with kindness and compassion. As an avid bridge player, Betty had an extensive social circle and valued these relationships. She was a devoted monarchist and in her later years could always be found with a royalty magazine in her lap. Betty also enjoyed her many trips to Great Britain and Bermuda with Howard, and the many summers spent at their cabin in Port Dover. A Funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., at Trinity Anglican Church (12 Blair Rd., Cambridge) with a reception in the Church Hall to follow. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lisaard House, Mennonite Central Committee or the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
