BETTY PATTERSON GEIGER

April 19,1946 - April 9, 2022

Betty was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Malcolm and Mary Anita Patterson, her Sister, Anita Taylor and her great granddaughter Emmalynn DeAngelo. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Patrick (Pat) Geiger and children Russell Thomas (Claudia) of Jacksonville Fl., Rodney Brinkley (Christine) of Katy Texas, Christopher Geiger (Michelle) of Maumee Ohio, Steven Brinkley (Jill) of Katy Texas, Hans Geiger of San Antonio Texas, Alisa Raney (Mitchell) of San Antonio Texas, Dawn Ketchum (Eddie) of Springfield Missouri, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson.

Betty was a native of Forrest City, Arkansas but a Texan in mindset and at heart.

Betty and Pat met in Houston in 1979 when she escorted him from the 4th floor elevator at Cameron Iron Works for a job interview. He was hired...and they worked together, started dating in 1981 and married in 1982. They spent decades together in the oil industry where they traveled much of the world and lived in Aberdeen Scotland (which she deemed her second home), and Singapore.

After leaving the oil industry Pat moved into a new role where he and Betty started more international adventures living in mainland China, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka while traveling extensively throughout Australasia and the Indian subcontinent ... after which they returned to Betty's beloved home in Fulshear Texas. Pat, much to Betty's chagrin, moved into yet another industry and she agreed to continue what she described as a nomadic lifestyle under the condition that their Texas house would always be her defined home base.

During the 13 years leading up to retirement they lived in Alabama, Kansas and returned to Texas.

This worldwide life adventure produced lasting friendships and an abundance of great memories.

Betty and Pat brought their respective offspring into what became a melded family of 7 children, 16 grandchildren and two great grand children. Betty hated the word "step" when referring to the children. They were all HERS. She was fiercely protective and deeply loved all of them. Her greatest accomplishment/love was the family that was shaped from very different individuals who, when they come together, are a unique group with a common bond. All based on love, respect and, of course, Betty.

Betty didn't want a traditional funeral but instead preferred a "big family party" which is being planned. The family asks that you remember Betty in anyway that works for you. A kind thought, a smile or a little extra to your favorite charity. (A few of her favorites causes are the MD Anderson Cancer Center, the National Kidney Foundation, The Alzheimer's Association and HavaHeart Rescue.)
